Reunited, Again
I silently walked down the beach, our beach. My grey cover up blowing in the wind; the sea's mist teasing my face. I sighed as I got to the water's edge, the waves barely touching my feet.
Ever since that fateful day, I had always felt closer to Will when I was by the sea. Even more so at our island as it has come to be known. But this feeling peaked when I was actually in the sea as if I was in Will's embrace.
It had been nearly 300 years we had been alive. I shouldn't be alive and I know that. The only explanation that we can come to is that when Will became the immortal Captain of the Flying Dutchman. When we made love, he passed some of that immortality to me thus making me live a much longer life. Every time we make love, this immortality in me and my bond with Will and the sea strengthens.
I still look the same as the day I married my husband although I can no longer bare children. And unfortunatly this immortality did not pass to the few children I did bare. So they met their father, met the loves of their lives, and started families of their own. Their children too repeating the process. At first they did come to see me, but less and less over time due to the fact that I was not aging. So, my grandchildren made families of their own and their children the same. My family is very numerous, but none know that their ancestors who started it all are still alive.
I sighed deeply as a big wave came up on the beach, covering my legs in salt water. Will was teasing me and I knew it. I sighed once again looking out to the sea. The sun was almost set. A few more minutes until that flash of green I had not seen for ten years.
I wrapped my arms around myself, waiting patiently. I waited ten years, I could wait a few more minutes. I watched the sun's desent, the waves brushing against my legs, the wind messing up my hair. I didn't care, all I needed was Will, and he would be here. He always was.
I smiled as the sun set and a brilliant flash of green light appreared. The Flying Dutchman came sailing towards me. I was grinning from ear to ear and waved at my husband. Ten years was a long time to be away from your soulmate.
It took the ship a few secounds to get a few feet off shore and anchored. Then, Will appeared in the water a few feet away from me. My smile grew even wider as I ran towards him throwing myself at him. He caught me by the waist and kissed me, pulling me as close to him as possible.
"Will," I gasped for breath after a few moments.
"Elizabeth," he whispered in the that husky voice that I loved.
"I missed you," I said, slowly rocking back and forth in the water.
"As did I," he answered. "I love you, my love."
"You've always had my heart," I whispered.
"And you have mine," he murmurred, kissing me again.
