Nothing ever mattered. None of those lives we've taken. Human or animal or… other. None of them… Besides her. Perhaps that is why we've become the way we are. Why my dear sister and I have become… more than siblings… I see her smile. Her rage. She's enjoying killing this man far too much. She's letting it blind her to other things. Evidence, for instance. She's splattering blood all over the walls and her shirt. Not just his blood. Her own blood from her knuckles. Evidence that could lead back to us. She knows I'll clean up, probably. She always knows I look out for her. She knows I only care for her. Strange bond… I don't know why, but it feels like I could do anything for her. Even kill our own mother. I press the blade in… I love that sound. The sound of blood beginning to pour. The pressure of the blade let loose. It's wonderful. But somehow, now, it's all bittersweet. Perhaps it's because, long ago, it could be said I shared affection for this woman below me, gurgling on her own blood and vomit. Or maybe it's because this means we have to leave. It means we have to run away and never turn back. I liked this life. Not wealthy, but certainly not poor. Now we'll have to abandon everyone. So many less people to know. To observe. To learn about. Mabel never cared for learning about behaviors. Probably why everyone on the outside thought I was normal. Because I adapted to them. Right until they saw me as I truly was. I always thought it was funny when they realized what I was.
Stupid stupid stupid stupid cunt! You couldn't leave me and my brother alone! We tried to tell you! We tried to make you listen! But you wouldn't have it, would you?! You stupid, ignorant fucks just couldn't let us be together! SO DIE YOU FUCKING CUNTS! DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!
"DIE YOU FUCKING PIECES OF SHIT! DIE!"
"Sister, the neighbors might hear."
"Oh, right… sorry, brother… I can get… carried away… when fucking shitbrains ruin our lives!"
"To be fair, it was a bit of a shock."
"Fuck you."
"Rude."
Dipper and Mabel look down at the mess they've made. Dipper thinks back onto the last hour. The hour when their lives were changed. When they discarded the last chance of a normal life in favor of their unnatural union. They were visiting their parents after a trip through Europe, attempting to discern any links between the ancient Aztec gods and the vampires of western society.
They travelled together, never staying apart for more than a few months at the most, when Dipper had to stay in a dorm room by himself for a while. At the first chance they had, they moved in to an apartment. Mabel focused on making money. She stole, she blackmailed, she broke bones. She did anything simply to stay by his side. And he focused on learning. He focused on knowing everything there is to know about the natural and supernatural while maintaining a passing interest in science. But it was for one purpose. To build a life with his sister. To build a world they could be together in, one where no one else could ever harm them, or talk down to them. A world where they would be accepted for who they are.
"And we… are the same, my sister and I. We are one and the same…"
They lived together, they bathed together, they slept together, and they killed together. And now, they would live through the rest of their lives together, never allowing anything to come between them. The two monstrous twins walk out of the house as it begins to burn, getting in their car and driving away.
