I chose, "I Will Always Find my Way to You" by Conway Twitty

Spoilers for the finale!

I Will Always Find My Way To You

If I were a sailor, Lost upon the tide
Sailing round in circles, Half an ocean wide
My heart would be my compass
It would guide me through
I will always find my way to you

Even as David Nolen drove toward the edge of town, he knew in his heart that he could never really leave. He would try though... for Mary Margaret's sake, he would try.

His baby blues were dry, though still red from the many tears he'd shed over her. She deserved to be with a better man than he could ever be. The least he could do was remove himself from the picture and give her the chance to find that... happiness with someone else.

The 'Now Leaving Storybrook' sign came into view, and he resolutely kept his foot on the gas.

'I can do this,' he told himself.

'For her, I can do this...'

And then suddenly he felt a jolt, like a punch to the chest.

His foot slammed on the brake and the truck lurched to a stop as the memories flooded over him.

"S-snow," he gasped in shock.

He had to get to her...

Momentarily disoriented, his eyes took in the steering wheel beneath his hands. It wasn't a horse under him, it was a truck.

It didn't matter. It would take him to Mary- Snow...

Snow.

His eyes shut and her face filled his mind. The warmth of true love filled his heart and pushed away the encroaching madness that threatened to take over due to the two lives that were playing tug-of-war with his heart and mind.

David didn't have a chance. He might have loved Mary Margaret more deeply than anything, but that love couldn't hold a candle to that of Charming's for Snow. He graciously surrendered, and Charming knew that though he would never be David again, the kind, well-meaning man would remain a part of him forever. He smiled eyes going to the review mirror.

Snow was this way...

Charming threw the truck into reverse and was headed back into town in a matter of seconds.

Like a lighthouse on the darkest night
Your love will always shine
And though I may have lost my way
That beacon, I will find.

Mary Margaret walked aimlessly through the town. She'd been on her way to find Emma, to tell her about Henry, when she suddenly started to remember things. Blurry at first, but growing sharper with each passing second. The loss and the pain that young Snow White had carried her entire life weighed heavily on the school teacher's shoulders.

No. This couldn't be. She was not Snow White! Was she?

She shuddered and it wasn't entirely from the cold. On and on she walked, eyes unseeing... Darkness encroached on her mind. She didn't want this! Why wouldn't it leave her alone? Why was she always the one who got hurt?

Who was she? Mary Margaret Blanchard? Or...

"Snow!"

That voice!

"Charming."

And there he was. The one who always found her. The one who had saved from the dark, time and time again.

Yes. She was Snow White. As long as he was Prince Charming, she would always be Snow White. Deep inside she felt Mary Margaret's sigh of happiness. The timid school teacher had only dreamed of the love that surrounded her now. And now, it always would.

If I were flier in another time and place
Floating lost and helpless
In the endless bounds of space
I'd do no more than speak your name
And hope would rise in you
I will always find my way to you

A/N: I've got a summer fic in the works about what's next for our Storybrook residents now that the magic has arrived... ;-)
