Power of the Solamnics
I woke with a new dawn and a new mission to complete. I am to eliminate the leader of the Solamnics at Palanthas.
It was decided that I was to walk into the city as a peasant and then sneak into the commanders area and kill him while he sleeps. Cowardly? Yes. Smart? Yes. Hard? No.
This is going to be my easiest job yet. I had killed Knights of the Crown in this maner but never a Knight of the Rose. This is going to be fun.
I arrive at the gates just before sunset and get a place to stay. 'I will go to sleep after i have something to eat' I thought. I go down to the bar and order some ale. I hear a noise behind me and turn in time to see a knight come in and say, "I have orders to capture a dark elf named Mitan Olalthan. He is wanted for atempts to murder the commander."
I hadn't done anything yet so I kept quiet. This wasn't me anyway. I sat here and waited for the Knight to leave. He finally did and I let out a sigh. 'He is gone' I thought, 'Maybe I should wait for a while before attacking if this elf is on the loose still. I would like him, maybe. He would be a good partner.'
"Ya, I would," said a voice beside me who I presome is Mitan.
"I am Mitan," the strange cloaked figure replied.
"How do you know what I am thinking," I asked the cloaked figure.
"Just say i am guessing and leave it at that," the figure replied.
"Okay, that's great. Why are you here?" I asked.
"What do you think?" he replied.
'He is here to kill the commander.' I thought.
"Ya, that's it, You got it!" He said exuberantly. When he said that I decided that I should get out of here fast because he is begining to scare me. He could read minds. Who can read minds? It's just impossible.
I knew of one way to read minds, Magic. I don't want to deal with magic, I didn't sign up for this.
'I will just attack the commander tonight and be done with this all' I thought.
"Good idea but it will not work," a voice said behind me so I turned around to look who just said that but there is no one. 'My mind is playing tricks on me, that is all,' I thought to myself,'Get a grip on your thoughts.'
At 12:00 that night I went to the commanders tent and killed both the guards, but when I entered I saw that the commander is still awake. He turned to face me and I thought I recognised him. He looked like Mitan, the dark elf. He is Mitan the dark elf. It finally dawned on me that is who he is.
He spoke finally in the voice of Mitan,"You are here to kill me I know but if you do you will also be killed. I have guards ready in hiding and will kill you if you touch me."
'He's prepared, no one has ever been prepared for me.' I thought to myself. Him being prepared for me bugged me and his words rang with the truth.
I turned to go and he spoke one last thing. "I am a Solamnic Mage. There are Solamnics who use magic but the leaders of use have said that no one shall know of this. if they did we would be in runes. People would kill us as they do the orders of the mages. The Solamnic Knights would be no more. I will let you go but if you speak anything of this to anyone I will know." With that I left and never again have I killed anyone, nor have I revealed the Solamnic's Secret.
