Chapter 1:

A/N: This chapter is just a prologue. It is just an explanation for what is going to happen. Mainly the first paragraph. The chapters get better and better in every publish.

After King Drasil's defeat, the digital world went through a big change. The royal nights did not see the reason in staying together and split up. Each one taking over a part of the digital world to protect, Omnimon got a whole continent. Digimon who had been affected by the battle were given shelter and soon many independent cities were made, most of them containing only a certain specie of digimon. The number of digimon who walked and traveled in the digital world depleted to a great extent.

The partners digimon of the humans who had saved both worlds returned to the digital world. But the biggest change that happened was that Marcus Damon, the humon partner of Agumon had shifted to the Digital World, unable to let go of his partner. This annoyed every other partner digimon and it took months for them to stop calling Marcus a 'sissy'.

The human world also went through a drastic change. First of all, there were cities to rebuild that were destroyed by Belphamon an the Royal Nights. The Japanese government lots of answering to do to the other countries. Everyone held the Japanese government responsible because it was Kurata, a Japanese citizen that started all of this was a shortage for shelter and hospitals, just the things that the people needed most. Many politicians were replaced.T

The digidestined had a lot of getting used to. Without there partner digimon, their world seemed empty. They didn't have anything to do. Everyone was feeling lonely, except Thomas. Just as their digimon left, Thomas began working on a cure for his sister Relena. He ignored all the jeers Keenan and Kristy gave him.

Kristy:"Just look at you, you don't even care that Gaomon is gone?"

Keenan:"I always thought that you had a hard heart."

Thomas:"That is not true."

Kristy:"Sure looks like it."

Thomas:"Will you to just leave me alone?"

Kristy:"I don't see why? This is a public place after all."

Keenan:"In case you forgot, this is a library."

Thomas:"In case you forgot, I have a reputation here, I can easily order you to be sent away."

Kristy:"Oh really? My father also has a reputation over here. He published a book on digimon and this library has over ten copies of it."

Thomas:"Just shut up. And I don't see why I should still be so sad about Gaomon leaving. It has been days now since that happened."

Keenan:"Two, to be exact."

Kristy:"I won't call those days too many."

Thomas:"Fine, you win, now will you leave me alone? I am trying to concentrate over here."

Keenan:"Fine, we have to research for our science project anyway."

5 years later: In the digital world:

It looked around. It was back in it's old lair. It looked at the black and yellow device in it's hand and it's eyes turned cold in hatred. "They are going to pay. Every one of them, especially him."

"Sir...Are you OK?"

"Perfect...Just perfect." It turned and looked at its loyal servant."How have things been going on. What has happened since I left. Tell me everything. Oh, and did my attack work?"

The digimon averted his gaze."S-sorry...Master...It failed."

"Stop stammering you coward!" It then sighed."But I would expect nothing less from a Royal Night."

"Thank you, for your kindness."

"Don't mention it! The Cutemon looked up with a smile at Gallantmon."You need rest. You better stay here for the night."

"There is no need for that!" Galllantmon got up. But as soon as he did so, he stumbled and immediately put a hand on the tree he was resting against. He closed his eyes briefly in pain. The Cutemon looked with worried eyes at the deep slash on the Royal Night's stomach.

"You were lucky." She commented."If you hadn't dodged that attack, you could have been dead." She averted her gaze."Because of me."

"Don't blame yourself."Gallantmon immediately tried to console the digimon."It is my fault. My job is to protect the digimon, and if I was not strong enough, then it is completely my fault."

Cutemon shook her head and dismissed her sad thoughts. She then looked up at Gallantmon."Sir, if I may ask, what were those digimon anyway?"

Gallantmon was taken aback by the question. He looked up and gazed thoughtfully at the night sky."I...Don't completely know the answer to that myself."

Marcus sighed on his make-shift bed of grass and leaves."This was not a good day. not a good day at all." He murmered.

"Keep quiet Boss! A digimon needs his beauty sleep you know. Especially a handsome digimon such as myself!"

Marcus turned over and smacked his partner digimon on the head."Oh please, the last thing you are is handsome."

"Shut up, Boss!..." Agumon started when he noticed that Marcused had switched his side again."You still worked up about that argument?"

Marcus sighed again."How could I not be, Agumon. Recently many strong digimon have been attacking us. What if those guys are attacked?"

"Don't worry Boss. They are strong-"

"They are strong rookies Agumon! I guess I should have tried another approach with them..."

Agumon yawned."Look Boss, you can brood over this all you want in the morning, OK?"

Marcus sighed once again which was slowly starting to irritate his partner. Agumon was going to shout at him when Marcus replied. "Fine."

Agumon huffed."Glad we have an understanding."

The Master looked at his underling who immediately knew that he was going to order something.

"Tell Zudomon to get out there and find out where is the current location of Gallantmon."

"Yes, Master."
