A/N-Just a little slashy 160-word drabble. Not too sure if I like it. It only took me five minutes to write, and it might show. But, eh, it was begging to be released on the world. And, it's better that it's out here as opposed to hopping around in my head, because then I can't work on the challenge or New Girl. I'm still working on both, I promise. I was going to write this for the challenge, but I couldn't figure out how to make it fit for one of the prompts. So, it shall stand alone.

Derek didn't care much for possessions. Well, sort of. He liked to own things, but he didn't care for them beyond that. He just wanted them. The same could be said of people.

Derek liked girls. This may seem like an obvious statement, but it doesn't change the fact that it's true. However, something that isn't so obvious is that Derek liked boys as well.

At least, he liked one boy.

The one boy that he could never tell his feelings to.

Because the boy was dating his stepsister. And was his best friend. If he told the boy, then maybe they wouldn't be friends anymore.

So, he pretended he didn't want him. He dated girls instead. Lots of girls. He couldn't even remember all of their names. But, it was better than losing his best friend.

Even if it meant he could never have the one person he wanted in the way he wanted.

Having half was better than having none.
