This is my first fanfic and it took a lot of courage to post this. I really would appreciate it if you would tell me what you think of my story. Constructive criticism is welcomed and needed. But, please, don't flame me. Flame's are rude and quite immature. Thank you, for taking the time to read my story.
A young lady was walking through the woods near her house when an eerie feeling came over her stunning her momentarily. Before she knew what was happening, and could have a chance to respond she was tossed into a swirling mass of purple and pink colors. Once her head had stopped spinning and the colors that had plagued her went away, she realized she was in a very foreign place.
'What is that up ahead?' she thought. 'A shack? I didn't know our woods were large enough for someone to live on without our knowledge.'
She started heading towards the house figuring she could ask them why they had tried to live on someone else's property.
'How could someone even think they could get away with that? They would have to at least help pay for the bills, the freeloaders,' she thought angrily.
All the while she argued mentally with the free loaders inside her mind she was being watched by perhaps not the nicest of all people. The powerful demon that watched her couldn't help but be attracted to the way she was wearing her emotions on her face. What a lovely face it was too. Slim and perfectly shaped with a nose that was small, but not too small, and full pink lips that made you think of kissing her endlessly only coming up for short breaths. Her eyes drew more attention then anything; they were the most astounding sea green. Periodically her eyes would become a beautiful pale blue, and even more rare would be the mixture of the two beautiful colors. She wore her emotions in her eyes and this fact alone was enough to hook the powerful demon, but there were so many other beautiful features to her. She had a color of hair never before seen by the demon. It was a color he would identify with his royal golden jewelry only her hair was lovelier than anything he owned was. The demon's eyes started wandering down further and he became even more pleased. She had a figure that very few woman could compete with. It was perfect; she had curves in all the right places, muscle but not so much that you would doubt her feminine figure. He was brought out of his little dreams by her sweet voice.
"I am going to give these people a piece of my mind!" she exclaimed out loud. "But what if they have nowhere else to go. What do I do then?"
This last bit of information troubled her. She didn't have the heart to send away someone who needed her help. The girl cursed her kind heart and continued on her way deciding to figure something out when she got to it.
She was almost to the door of the odd looking shack when she heard a noise behind her. She immediately turned around. She looked at her surroundings carefully, seeing nothing unusual. She was about to return to her quest when she sensed another odd feeling behind her. She froze. She wanted to run, something was coming and she didn't know if she liked it or not. Her legs would not cooperate with her. The feeling was getting closer and closer.
"NO!" she screamed in terror as she ran up to the shack and quickly ran in closing the door with all her weight and muscle. She heard a cracking sound as someone or something banged on the door with an incredible strength. 'Please,' she begged mentally, 'let the door hold-out, make them go away.' She heard a huge crack and the door split open. As soon as the door opened a bird of some sort flew into the room. It appeared to be a cross between an eagle and a crow. The bird looked at the girl with hungry eyes. All she could do was stare in horror. 'I feel as though I am in some sci-fi movie,' she thought. 'That would probably be funny if it wasn't so terrifying at the moment.' The bird started to move towards its prey. 'What can I do?' she thought desperately. The bird was not going to allow her to come up with a plan. It flew straight for her chest under her right breast. It didn't stop there it actually entered her chest. The force of the bird's entrance caused her to fly into the wall of the shack.
A young monk was walking by a spring trying to clear his head when he heard a young lady scream 'no' in terror. He ran towards the voice hoping that it was nothing too serious and if it were he would make it in time to help her. When he finally did locate the place of the screams he saw chaos. A demonic bird had just broken through some odd looking young lady's defense and was eyeing her hungrily. He ran faster hoping he could stop the bird before the beast's intentions were carried out. He had seen this before and if he was correct few to none survived. The bird lunged for the young lady's chest and his worst fear was true, it had done the expected, but that did not stop him from going to her aid.
"Oww," she gasped in pain. She was trying to stick her hand inside the wound left by the bird and drag the evil beast out of her. The monk stared in awe of her bravery and stupidity. Once the bird went in it was not coming back out until its master summoned it.
She looked up at the young man and begged, " Please, help me. I must get it out. Please." He nodded his head signifying he would help her all he could. He grabbed onto her hands and helped her shove one hand successfully into her chest. What happened next no one expected, not the monk, not the lady, not the bird demon, nor the powerful demon watching all this disorder calmly; a blinding white light burst forth from her chest and in her hands she held the demon that had tried to take residence inside her. The bird didn't last long, though. Her hands were still glowing a pearly white while the bird disintegrated within the light.
"Di... did I do that? It just disappeared?" she questioned while looking at her hands in curiosity.
"Yes," the young monk answered, "you did that. I don't know how though. I can only think of two people with a power like that, Kagome and Kikyou."
She stared off into space for a few moments before she realized what he had just said. "Kikyou!?! Kagome!?! What?" she questioned frantically. "Then are you...." she began, "Miroku?"
He gasped. 'How did she know my name? Something's not right.' he thought while trying to make sense out of this crazy situation. He decided to question her, "How do you know my name? Do I know you?"
"No, you don't know me, but I don't know how to explain my knowledge of you and your friends that," she grabbed her chest in pain, " you will believe." she panted out.
"Are you okay? Can I help you?"
"Yes, the hole.. it won't let me touch it, could you please do something? Rub it?" she groaned out in agony. He stared at her in stunned silence. He had never thought a girl would actually ask him to touch them so personally. She stared up at him awaiting an answer as patiently as she could. He just nodded in response. He kneeled beside her gently, yet embarrassed at the awkwardness of the whole situation, and rubbed the abused flesh below her right breast.
'Maybe I should start a conversation so this won't be quite so...odd.' Miroku thought. He decided that was the best thing to do, act like nothing was happening. "So," he questioned, "what is your name? You know mine, but I don't have yours."
She smiled, "My name is Charity."
"Lovely."
"Thank you."
Silence followed the short conversation. Charity was busy thinking how she could have possibly ended up here of all places, and Miroku was thinking about how she knew about him, Kikyou, and Kagome but they knew nothing of her.
Miroku finally interrupted the silence suddenly remembering his friends could worry about his sudden disappearance. "Charity perhaps we should go now. My friends are probably worried about me. Is this your home that was wrecked during the fight?"
"Well," Charity said nervously, " I don't really have a home or a place to go to. I am not from around here."
"Then you will come with me. I am sure they won't mind having you come along." Charity gave him the most heart-melting, beautiful smile he had ever seen. He was speechless.
Miroku stood up and made sure to help the beauty off the floor. She smiled and thanked him. In all the previous commotion Miroku had forgotten all about a demon bird, which was destroyed by Charity, having a master. Every demon bird that tried to take up residence inside of a young lady like that was most likely a servant for some higher demon. They were halfway to the forest that the InuYasha gang was staying in when Charity felt the presence that seemed to be following her everywhere. She felt safe with Miroku so she blocked the whole thing out to the best of her abilities.
