1. Chapter 1

Kori POV

My dad sat on the sofa with his head resting in his hands, while my mother sat next to him rubbing his back, while quietly crying. This is how every night has gone sense my brother, Boyd, went missing two and a half months ago.

My dad and I always end up fighting with each other because they are always both to worried about Boyd that they don't even bother checking to see if I am really even home when they go to bed.

"You know I don't see why you both even bothered adopting me if you're not even going to pay any attention to me." I said quietly

I heard my mother gasp, "Alex you don't talk to us like that, we don't deserve this you know. Are you acting like this is…your way of coping without Boyd?" my mom asked

"You both lost the right of me respecting you when you both left with Boyd to go to New York for three weeks. And I didn't even know and you never asked someone to watch me when I was only thirteen years old!" I yelled at her, after I got done my dad shot right up and started yelling at me.

"Alexandria get up to your room right now while your mother and I talk about what we should do about you acting this way." He said in that voice that scares you because you know the person is really mad.

"Alexandria, honey why are you acting up so much now? Why can't you act more like Boyd?" my mother asked me as my dad walked into the kitchen

"You really want me to act more like Boyd?" I asked while thinking if she says yes it will so backfire on her and dad!

"Yes, he always got good grades and never got into trouble unlike you!" She said matter of factly

"Yeah well he always got good grades and never got into trouble because he had no social life. And by the way what you call 'getting into trouble' is how I normally act but you never knew that because you were to worried about Boyd to know that, but I won't blame him for everything because that would just break you perfect little heart now wouldn't it?" I yelled at her as I walked up the stairs to my room, not even bothering to look to see what her face looks like.
