A/N: Anyone else pissed about the lack of Rose in the 50th anniversary episode? Yeah, me too. I'm choosing to believe that there is more of her story. So this is my "missing scene" between herself and John Hurt's Doctor.
The Doctor closed the door of the TARDIS, leaving himselves behind.
The Bad Wolf girl sat calmly on the jump seat, waiting for him.
He smiled at her slightly. "You are more than you say."
She smiled. "Yes."
"What are you, girl?"
"A piece of the time vortex. A ghost from your future."
"No." He said, "Not a ghost." She flickered, reappearing against the coral of the TARDIS, stroking it thoughtfully.
He stroked his beard thoughtfully, his eyes never leaving hers. "A saving grace, perhaps, but not a ghost."
A tear tracked down her face, her eyes shimmered golden, and she began to glow.
"I am human." Her voice resounded with a power that belied her words. The Doctor could feel it in his bones. Then she smiled. "I am Rose Tyler. I am a human girl who loves you throughout time, throughout universes. I will promise you forever, Doctor. Someday, when you find Gallifrey... I will be waiting for you there. Just as I waited in the past, slipping into a weapon in the hopes of using it for healing instead of death." She cocked her head, as if amused by a voice only she could hear. "I bring life. The final act of the time war." She laughed, and it was pure joy. "How fantastic, no, how brilliant is that?" She vanished once more.
"I wonder, how long I have to wait before I know you." He said quietly.
She reappeared behind him. Close enough to whisper into his ear, "Not long, Doctor. You are coming to me so very soon. But not with that daft old face." She grinned at a joke he didn't comprehend and was suddenly standing in front of him. He didn't move away as she reached out a glowing hand and touched his forehead - Placing a glimpse of a future he knew he would soon forget into his mind. A glimpse of a hand reaching out for his. The echo of a tongue to teeth grin and an embrace that held happiness in its wake. A glimpse of them traveling through space and time. The snapping pain of loss, of a grim white wall... And a glimpse of shining towers and a girl staring up at the sky, waiting for him to find her. Knowing that the time would come when he would. He felt hope.
"Just remember. Remember, you clever boy, to ask me twice. And to run. Remember that." She said it again, "Remember." A howl slipped through the sound of the word and she glowed brighter still. "Remember my Doctor. Even when you regret, even when you forget me because you will... Remember to believe in me."
The golden being she had become kissed him on the cheek and the glow of the time vortex slipped from her into him and his body ached with it.
The Bad Wolf girl, Rose, staggered slightly, looking like just a girl again, pink and yellow and human. But he knew. He knew she was so much bigger on the inside.
She smiled and tears tracked down her face.
"I want you safe my Doctor."
With that she vanishes from view one final time. The TARDIS is quiet, except for the sound of the universe. The sound of hope. The Doctor exhales quietly, and leans gently against the console.
He feels the heat of regeneration rolling under his skin. "Wearing a bit thin." With a sigh, he eases into the flames. "I hope the ears are a bit less conspicuous this time."
There is a shimmer of laughter somewhere in the universes.
