Reunion
"Aigis!"
The android stopped walking towards her room, and turned towards the brunette who had followed her up, panting as she tried to catch her breath.
"Do you remember...?" Yukari asked as she finally relaxed enough to speak normally.
"Remember...?" The blonde's eyes widened. "... Yukari-san? You are..."
"... I am..." the brunette smiled, grasping the other's metalic hands. "... you remember! But..."
She frowned, gazing down at their hands.
"... why don't you have Athena anymore? I..."
"... Yukari-san, you don't have Selene anymore, either, do you?" Aigis frowned. "I'm sorry. I ... I should have protected you! And yet, I vanished for ten years, leaving you to the mercy of the people who...!"
"Aigis, it's not your fault." Yukari stopped her with a raised hand. "All that matters is that we are together again now!" she smiled. "And if you have to feel our bond again ... that doesn't matter, either! We will get Athena and Selena back no matter what!"
"Yukari-san..."
"I promise!"
A smile finally graced the blonde's face as they held hands like they used to ten years ago, when Yukari was little and she was comforting her over her father's death and the people treating her cruelly over it.
"This is the best summer ever!" Yukari chippered as they stood there in the middle of the third floor, unaware of anything around them.
"Yes, Yukari-san!" Aigis' eyes softened and she leaned in, hugging the other with the same comfort and love as a decade ago.
That allowed her to see the shadow of a small person gasping before he headed downstairs in surprise.
