Summary: Buffy & Dawn spends Mother's Day with Joyce the only way they know how

Buffy and Dawn walked down the street, a bouquet of daisies in hand. Making a turn they walked into the cemetery and stopped in front of a tombstone that read 'Joyce Summers.' Sitting beside the grave Dawn placed her bouquet in front of her mother's tombstone. Buffy then placed her daisies on the grave and looked up.
"We know you're up there," Buffy started slowly, "but we wanted to spend this special day with you. No matter where you are you will always be in our hearts. I know I'm not the best guardian for Dawn." She looked at her sister as she spoke.
"Sometimes I find myself doing or saying something to her and then thinking 'Mom would have handled that much differently,' but that's what I have to remember, I'm not you and I never will be. I just hope that I can raise Dawn like you'd like her to be and that you're proud of us both."
Dawn looked up at Buffy and smiled, trying to break the tension. "Yeah, have you ever tasted her cooking!?" she half-asked giggling. Buffy gave her a look that said 'don't mess with me, I know where you sleep!'
Standing up Dawn said "Well, Mom, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day and let you know that I love you."
Still sitting Buffy let a single tear slide down her cheek as she said, "I really miss you. I love you Mom, Happy Mother's Day." Standing up she hugged Dawn and they slowly made their way back to their house to discuss all the good times with Joyce over a nice cup of hot cocoa and marshmallows.
