AN: Okay, so at the end of the school year, I had to read Romeo and Juliet in english class. One of our assignments was to make an ode to a dead character. I am no poet, I suck at every kind of poetry. Me and poetry do not mix. Just like me and Shakespeare do not mix either. So, I hope that this isn't too bad. My ode was to Mercutio. I would love feedback, since I would like to improve this.
Disclaimer: Just in case, I do not own Romeo and Juliet. That's all Shakespeare. This ode, I do own though.
Ode to Mercutio
Abrasive Mercutio, jokester even on your deathbed
Kinsmen to the prince, an always ready fighter
With his head held high, and mirth being what he brung
Dear friend of Romeo, do not let him dwell
On past love with the chaste beauty, Rosaline
Instead encourage new interest to bloom
Not aware of the woe to come
With the prince of cats' low blow, you laughter
Does not die, do not let them mourn
For bigger problems await with your death
Exile from Verona awaits Montague
Karma shall find cowardly Tybalt
And shall not leave him breathing
The arrogance that filled your stature,
the presence which once filled a room
It's lack of will not go unnoticed
Forever shall you rest in their thoughts
