Zexion was new in Twilight Town. He didn't seem to have any friends. Zexion was always on her own, whether he was walking in the park or sitting on a bench in front of the railway station with a book. He was not a raving beauty, though he was quite nice to look at. He had an emo hairstyle, small and dark blue eyes. Although I must say he would be cuter if he smiled more often.

I first saw him sitting by himself at the train station. Casually, I sat down next to him. He immediately got up and walked some distance away from me. I fell in love with the way he moved. He was so graceful. I was quite immune as I have received brushh-offs before.

"Hi!" I said. He turned to face me and looked as though he had seen a ghost. "Are you talking to me?" he stammered.

I smiled a bit. "Yes, you. You're new in this town, aren't you?" he nodded, although he looked a little confused. "I'm Demyx, what's yours?" He looked as though he would run away, which he did but not before whispering "Zexion".

Every time I saw Zexion, I tried to be friendly and start a conversation. He was a tough nut to crack. He would give me strange looks whenever I spoke to him. The only topics he seemed interested in were literature, life and death. After about a week, we became good friends. He was almost always at home taking care of his father. As he did not take me to meet his father, I didn't think we were that close yet. I didn't mind though. I treasured the time we spent at the library, park and in front of the train station. I enjoyed and looked forward to his company.

The secretive nature and the mystery about his home and family eventually became too much for me to bear. So I followed him home one day. I watched through the small window as he greeted an old man who was sitting in front of the television. The man ignored him but Zexion kept talking. After a while, the cold shoulder treatment reduced him to tears and he walked slowly upstairs. I told myself that I would never ask him about it. The old man saw me at the window and I waved to him. He stared at me like his son did when we first met.

After four weeks, I realized I was in love with Zexion. I confessed to him, one night in the park. We were looking at the stars, lying on our backs on the cool grass. I remember the frightened look on his face, how he started to cry. I tried to comfort him but he ran away. He avoided me when I spoke to him. There were times when I chased him down the streets, shouting him name and ignoring stares from other people. His mother threw away all the notes I left for him at his house. I stopped writing to him after that.

One sunny afternoon, I saw him at the park. I watched as he slowly approached me. "You'll never stop, will you?" he asked.

"I just can't stop thinking about you."

He reached up and touched my face. I held him then for the first time, breathing in his scent. He pulled away and took my hand. He led me to a darker part of the park, one that I had never seen before.

Suddenly I realized why he couldn't love me back. Why he could never be with me. Why his father ignored him. I fell to the ground and started to cry. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't know how," he said. I sat there looking at him name on the cold, grey stone. When I got up to leave, he had disappeared.
