A/N: Just a little drabble inspired by Episode 3 in the series, where Nanami had to send the book report and Tomoe was in her school at that time. Enjoy!
Nanami's POV
Ah! I have finally finished the report, it was time to send it to the teachers' office. I flipped the book up and called out for Tomoe. I was a bit startled when I saw him leaning on his left hand, obviously tired from running all the work for that day. 'Pity him,' I thought to myself. I felt guilty for letting him did all the work, be it at the shrine or here, in school. I knew I was still weak and although Kotetsu and Onikiri claimed that I had improved as a deity, I still felt like my efforts were still not enough to live up to Tomoe's expectations. I sighed softly. I was not going to let anything stop me from being the best deity for the shrine. I knew I had to do something about it. But first, I had to get this book delivered. I shook Tomoe a bit, wanting to tell him that I would be gone for awhile but it seemed that he would not budge, his eyes were still closed and that little 'O' was formed on his mouth. I smiled.
I was not sure if waking him up now would be the right thing to do now but I knew I had to let him know. Hearing him breathing softly and so closely to me, my left hand began to wander to his face. I brushed the bangs that were hiding his eyelids. His hair was soft, just as much as it looked. My hands then proceeded to his fox ears, those very things that stood up when I looked at him. That part of him was just as smooth as his hair was. His ears were slightly bent, signalling that he was not fully aware of his surrounding at that time. But it was okay, I still felt that I was safe. Maybe because Tomoe's presence alone made me feel that way. Maybe that warmth he radiated gave me the good vibes I had been feeling since I made him my familiar. I rubbed those ears gently, trying to sooth any tension he had at that time, although I was fully aware that he was snoozing off.
"Gomen ne, Tomoe." I whispered to him softly. "I've always been a burden to you."
I let my hands move to his cheek, and I found myself caressing it. He was still in the same position that he was in earlier. "You're always good to me, I don't know how I could ever repay you." That little hair moved to his forehead again and like the last time, I slowly moved it to the side of his face, wanting him to nap comfortably. "I know I'm a mere human, and I still have a lot to learn." My hand was fully resting on the cheek that was not on his palm. "But as long as you stay with me, I'm always able to learn and master so many more things from you."
I pulled my hand to my side and took the book that I was supposed to send in. "I'll be back," I stood up and without thinking further, my lips descended on the crown of his head, placing the previous hand gently on his shoulder. Looking at him for another brief second, I smiled and left him in the room.

Momozono Nanami left the classroom, unaware that the fox demon's ears were perked up the moment she brushed past him. And that a gentle smile was softly plastered on Tomoe's face. 'Nanami...chan.'
Hope readers like it. I'd be making more if someone requests it or if I get some reaction of out this story. Review!
