The one you carried almost broke your back

As you marched on in pain, a fluid ran

As I watched you cry

I figured that it was necessary

A lack of empathy on my part

Meeting up, but barely speaking

While I'm stuck with you

We're perhaps more alike than I once knew

"Will you stay by my side?" For now.

It's fine to say that we're together

To be bound, so that you can continue on

But, someday, you'll be done

And this bond of ours will fade away

When you're finally finished

I'll be glad that this is all over

Are you in love? I can't say

Yet, we stay together. What should we call this bond?
