The Kelbi sniff the air. They know something is here. However, they do not know that it is I who lurks in the Sea of Trees.

They look up and see me as I edge down the trunk of a tree. I leap onto the ground, and the Kelbi scatter. They try their best to flee, but I catch up with them in one jump. I swipe, and one of the Kelbi falls dead to the ground. I roar in triumph, warning other predators and scavengers to back off. I do not enjoy my meal for long.

The smell of human leaks into my territory, and I stand upright to look around. My black fur stands on end, to show whoever has invaded my area that I am healthy, alert, and angry. The stink doesn't go away. I turn around, and the human is stood there in the entrance to the area. I get down on all fours and roar at the human as they come running at me. They cower and cover their ears. A rookie hunter. This should be fun to play with…
I jump to the side then swipe at the hunter. They are sent hurtling towards a tree trunk, and lie on the ground panting for a moment before getting to their feet. I swipe again, but multiple times, and again the hunter rolls on the floor in agony. I feel something prick the back of my leg. I turn around. A Felyne? The hunter has got a Felyne to aid him in his quest? I can't see how this will affect the battle's outcome. The human is still going to be dead meat. I snap at the Felyne and he burrows underground. Good. Now that cat is out of the way I can focus on the human. When I turn around he is nowhere to be seen. I sniff the air. The scent has faded, so I take of into the air and my wings carry me to wherever it has disappeared to.

The scent leads me to a cave. I land on the soft, mossy earth, and I see an Ioprey attacking something. It's the human. They have seen me, so I run towards them. The hunter strikes the Ioprey and it collapses to the ground, lifeless. Out of the corner of my eye I see the Felyne, waving to get my attention. He has got it, and now he will regret attracting it. I leap to the right, and then jump forward in an attempt to slash at the Felyne. Suddenly I can't move. A trap. A cat had lured me into a trap. I felt so foolish. The hunter runs over and starts to attack my face. Fire. I hate fire. He keeps attacking. I am released from the trap, and my arms and back heat up in a rage. I roar in the hunter's ears, and he cowers. The Felyne seems unaffected and hits the hunter to 'snap him out of it'. I've had enough. I spin round and slam my tail into the earth. Although I struggle to release it, the human seems to be weakening. The Felyne burrows underground once again, giving me the opportunity to finish off the hunter. I roar, and he covers his ears. I slowly lift up my right paw and slash the hunter's stomach with all the strength I have left. He falls to his knees. He looks up at me, and I hiss at him through my teeth. Finally, he collapses, unconscious but alive. I look at the human. His quest was to slay my kind. I made him fail. Even with a Felyne comrade to help him, he was no match against The Wyvern of the Wind.
