Your Not Yourself

Sapphette and I walked into the pet. Because Madison got fired, we were hired. "Come on Sapp, let's feed the pets," I said. She nodded. We walked into the day camp area.

The pets ran up to us and crowded our legs. "Hey, everybody! Lunch time," said Sapphette. Me and Sapphette walked over to the pet dishes. I picked a bag of food, Russell's, and a bottle fell out.

"Huh," I asked. I picked up the bottle. I examined it closely. It had some pink powder with blue flecks in it. "Hey Sapp," I called. She was filling Sunil's bowl. "Yeah, PenWork," she answered. I walked over to her. "What do you think this is," I asked, holding up the bottle. She took it from me. "Huh. I don't know,"she said.

I pulled out the cork and emptied out the powder. I swirled it around in my hand. "I wonder...ah. Ah! AH! AHCHOO!" The powder blew everywhere.

We coughed and cleared it away. "Whatever it was, it smelled weird," I said, still coughing. I was surprised by own voice. It was...deeper. I opened my eyes and looked at Sapphette. "Uh, Sapp," I asked, slightly horrified. "What," he asked! "I think I might have to call you Sapphetteboy!" "Why's that," he asked.

I held up a mirror.

He looked at his reflection. "I'm a...I'm a...DUDE!" He screamed. "Sapp! SAPP! Calm down," I shouted. He snatched the mirror away from me and faced it toward me. I looked at my reflection with horror.

My brown braids were gone and only left short hair. My dark brown eyes were an adorable light brown. I didn't look like myself. I...was...a...

BOY!

"Uh, guys," called one of the pets. I turned around and looked at each of the pets. Each (gulp) gender switched pet. "Sorry to say but..."

"Think we have more pressing matters here!"
