The Case of the Missing Lipstick

"Oi, spaceman! Where's my lipstick?" Donna bellowed from her bedroom.

"Lipstick?" The Doctor asked innocently.

"Yes, lipstick. Small, black plastic tube, red contents. Have you seen it?"

"No..." The Doctor reached into his pocket and pulled out the object in question. "I have no idea where its got to."

"Well if you see it, let me know, its my favourite colour. Goes with my hair.

"I know" the Doctor murmured to himself, "why do you think I pinched it?"

Two hours later:

Donna stalked into the TARDIS control room with a familiar look on her face, one the Doctor was beginning to recognise as "here comes the pain." His brain started flashing through the last few days, trying to figure out what he'd done now.

She stomped up to him and said in a dangerous voice "I asked you a question earlier, do you remember?"

"You ask a lot of questions, Donna, you're going to have to be more specific" the Doctor replied.

"Ok, specifically, I asked if you'd seen my lipstick. And what did you say?"

Oops. "I said I hadn't seen it" the Doctor looked a bit worried.

"That's right. But look what I found, lying on the floor beneath your coat, like it had fallen out of a pocket." She brandished the tube at him.

"Uh, woops?"
