A young man helped his wife down from the flying bison. Appa, the bison, roared as a goodbye to his owners. They were Avatar Aang and Master Katara. They walked hand in hand, up the cobbled stairs and through the town's centre. The couple, who had come as young friends, now saw the need to visit an important role in their journey. Aunt Wu. Katara just hoped that she would be able to be more sensible this time. They came to a stop at the same building they had seen years before. It hadn't changed a bit. Before either of them had a chance to knock on the door, it opened. A woman around Aang's age stood on the other side. Her hair was dark, curly and loose. She had a few freckles dotted all across her face. As soon as she saw the two visitors, she grinned widely.
"Aang, floo- I mean, Katara." the woman greeted "It's so nice to see you again."
Katara arched an eyebrow at the word that the person had almost said. She knew straight away who it was. Aang just stared in a confused manner. The girl laughed.
"I can see that you don't remember me Aang, but it's ok. It's Meng, and I can see that you've grown into your ears."
"Aang pressed both of his hands to his ears as if to make them smaller. Katara pulled his hands down but looked at Meng.
"Aang, your ears are fine sweetie. Meng. It's nice to see you but we really came to see Aunt Wu. Where is she?"
The younger female smiled and gestured for them to come in.
"She's where she always is. Waiting for you."
The couple stepped inside and sat on throw cushions as Meng went to get Aunt Wu.
"That wasn't really the question," Katara mumbled "But okay."
"Aang patted his wife's hand and held back his laughter. Especially when an elderly lady greeted them in what could only be called a dignified manner. She paled slightly when she caught sight of Katara, but her stony eyes softened when her eyes came to Aang. She instantly remembered the goofy but desperate, little boy from his last visit.
"Avatar Aang and... Master... Katara I presume?" Aunt Wu stuttered at the last part. Both Katara and Aang noticed the elderly lady's discomfort, but they both knew that Katara was the one to solve it.
"Aunt Wu." Katara spoke up "I know that I caused you great annoyance last time I was here. I acted childishly and naive. I shouldn't have tested your patience like that. We have just come to say something brief, so we'll be on our way afterwards."
Aang nodded and continued for her.
"Aunt Wu. We came to thank you for telling our fortune. If you hadn't told Katara about her love life, then I wouldn't have heard it either. Plus she wouldn't have known that I was the powerful bender that she would marry, and lastly. You gave me the hope to continue moulding my own future. So really, we came on this three day journey just to thank you for helping us. We shall go now. Goodbye Aunt Wu."
They exchanged bows with each other, said goodbye to Meng and left As their silhouettes disappeared, the elderly lady laughed happily.
"Well done young Avatar."
"With that, she closed the door and waited for more people to stumble onto her doorstep.
