In Brightest Day

A Glee/DC Comics Crossover

By Niklarus

Author's Note: I haven't decided yet whether this will remain a one-shot or if I'm going to make something more out of it. The idea came to me and wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote it down. Hope you find it enjoyable.

Disclaimer: I own nothing. If I owned any part of either Glee or DC, I'd be living in a mansion, not paying rent on an apartment.

A green cocoon of light arced through the darkening Saturday sky over Lima, Ohio, coming to a shimmering, hovering halt over an alleyway sandwiched between the Leaping Laughter Dance Studio and Greater Greenery Vegan Restaurant. Returned to her hometown from monitor duty onboard the Justice League of America's satellite headquarters, the dark-haired young woman in the center of the light, raised a ringed, white-gloved fist towards what, at first glance, was an empty spot in the buildings' shared parking lot.

An emerald beam shot from the ring and struck the air about five feet above the parking spot. Soundlessly, the cloak hiding a late-model, jade-colored hybrid compact faded out of existence, revealing the car not only to the flying girl, but also to the blonde just leaving the dance studio by the back door.

The blonde's eyebrows shot up. Right. No more of Coach's "energy drinks" before dance class for me. Maybe Lord Tubbington will like them. Biting her lip, she slipped back into the doorway, leaving the exit open just enough to see what was happening without getting caught.

With a soft, almost inaudible displacement of air, the brunette landed next to the driver's door. A moment later, an act of will transformed her green-and-silver uniform into an animal-print sweatshirt and a knee-length skirt. She opened the door, got in and started the car. Unaware of the stare of her classmate, Rachel Berry, diva extraordinaire, co-captain of New Directions, Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814 and founding member of the JLA, pulled out of the lot and drove home.
