Smile
Juliet always smiles when people talk about Claire and how they met. They never mention the real reason - Juliet the nervous, cynical fertility expert, Claire the heavily pregnant survivor of a plane crash - but after the rest of the 815ers are found and Juliet joins them, people start asking questions.
They answer them, Claire's arms around Aaron as he giggles, Juliet pulling the funny faces he likes. They met on the Island and fell in love. A first experience for either of them, but definitely the last.
The first few months pass in a whirlwind of time and moving and goodbyes and hellos. Juliet and Rachel reunite and Claire cries with how heartfelt and sincere it is. Claire and her mom meet and Carole finds herself approving a lot of Juliet.
They grab a large, expansive place by the beach where Aaron plays in the water and learns to swim with Juliet. Hurley and Sawyer teach Aaron how to play football on the golden sand with Juliet and Claire watching, pale ankles lounging languid in the surf.
It's not until Juliet awakens one morning - in soft sheets that she saw Claire wash and iron only yesterday - to find Aaron giggling delightedly as he sits on top of her, that she feels safe. Aaron kisses her naturally before Claire calls from the kitchen that breakfast is ready.
Juliet sits down at the breakfast bar, watching as Aaron and Claire watch cartoons together. Claire passes Juliet her pancakes with a kiss as Rachel and Julian arrive, as they often do for breakfast.
Taking in the pancakes, the sound of Rachel and Julian's warm hellos and Claire's sweet, beloved, loving smile - aimed right at her - Juliet smiles as she always does now. This is home.
Fin.
