A/N: I once did a project in my AP Lit class where we took words from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness and rearranged them into a poem. I thought I'd try something similar with lyrics from the Trock songs by Chameleon Circuit, and this is the result. Enjoy!

"Amy's Fairytale"

I'll sing you to your sleep.
This is my fairytale.

A daft old man stole a box and ran away
to see the world and disappear.
The Traveling Man;
fire and ice burning through time,
new and ancient and
as old as forever.
The silly old Doctor and Amelia, the girl
whose life didn't make any sense,
running from the days of old.

So many places I've been—
a world of time and space
where angels fear to tread—
nothing but memories now.
I don't know why I never thought to ask him for his name,
but I just couldn't find the words.
Seems I'm not that clever after all.

Don't leave me now,
I don't want you to go—
Bye bye, Pond.
Please don't be scared.
But I still can't help but cry.
Lonely savior of the universe,
No longer will you wait for me.

Your song is ending,
but don't cry, love.
We're all stories in the end,
folktales told through time.
Try to keep them safe.
