A/N: I once did a project in my AP Lit class where we took words from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness and rearranged them into a poem. I thought I'd try something similar with lyrics from the Trock songs by Chameleon Circuit, and this is the result. Enjoy!
"Cycle"
Everybody knows that everybody dies,
but I don't want to go.
Think of all the vanquished foes,
the galaxies and planets and moons.
There's so much more to see;
I could do so much more.
What happens when everything goes dark?
Time keeps turning
and some new man saunters away.
Brand new me,
but I'm no fool.
I'll keep dying and living,
but you may never know my face.
The wind whistles across the snow.
I feel like your song is coming to its end.
But I don't want to go.
The Doctor isn't always right.
When you hear him knock four times,
when all the lights go out,
please don't be scared.
The Doctor is dying.
But I don't want to go.
