Edit : Sorry for the re-upload, there were a few grammar and spelling mistakes than I wanted to correct after rereading it. Also, I'm considering making this into multiples one-shots on Peter dealing with everything, including the other deaths. Any ideas for that would be welcome.
I saw Endgame Yesterday, and consider this my coping with the Emotional trainwreck that that was. It a lot shorter than my usual stuff, but I wanted to make it while the tears were still fresh, 'cause, you know, I love mentally tearing my soul apart. On that fun note, I'm off to go and cry in my bed some more.
In case it's not obvious.

"Peter?"
"Wake up Mr Stark, please. "
"Hey, Peter?"
"Can you hear me? Mr Stark, please, please.
"It's me, Ned. Can I come in?"
Peter wanted to scream back at Ned, No, please, I'm not ready to talk, but nothing came out except another flood of tears, a choked sob that ripped from his throat. He could hear the door opening, even though he didn't want it to. He didn't want to move on, like everyone told him too.
I just want Mr Stark back.
"Hey,.. Uhh, Peter? Can we talk, I mean, not if you don't want to, but-"
"What do you want." It came out harsher than he expected, he could hear Ned stepping back nervously, himself refusing to turn around from the wall and show his tear-stained face. He didn't want the pity he knew would be thrown on him, he just wanted Mr Stark, to hear his snarky voice teasing him one last time.
"I want Peter back. You've been like a stranger all day, you've not even looked at anyone, It's like you don't even hear us-"
"Why do you think, Ned." He tried to sound angry, but all he did was sound... sad. Mr Stark would have understood.
"Stark, Right?" The word made Peter freeze for just a second. Stark. Ned continued "And the Snap, I mean, we're all still suffering missing five years while half the world moved on, but to come back and hear about his death, I guess that's why you-"
You don't understand You don't understand You don't understand
He cut him of again, his voice barely a whisper than time. "I didn't hear about it, Ned. I saw it, I was there, I-" A sudden cry of anguish cut him off , him burying himself back in the wall to try and stop the tears. It didn't work.
"What!" Ned spoke with what could only be described as awe "I didn't realize, we saw some footage of the battle on TV, but you were actually there?"
"Yeah." That was all he said.
For a while, a few minutes, they sat in silence, Peter finally turned to face Ned, and neither spoke, understanding. Finally, Peter made to speak, only for Ned to quickly intervene.
"You don't have to tell me, not if you don't want to."
"It's fine, I need to get it off my shoulders, Ned. I gotta talk about it to someone. He paused, and Ned didn't push. He'd talk when he was ready.
Finally, "You-. You knew about what caused the Snap, right?. The Gauntlet and everything?"
A nod. "That purple guy with the weird chin.-" Peter let out a small laugh, the first Ned had heard since they had come back. "He had these six stone... things.
The ghost of a smile drifted across Peter's face. "Yeah. Anyways, Everyone who was Snapped, we came in the battle halfway, when they were trying to keep the new gauntlet, they made a second one with those stones in it, the one that undid everything, away from him. " As an afterthought, he added "I even held it for a minute or two"
"Wait wait wait, you held the infinity gauntlet?" A real smile, this time.
"Well, yes- but-"
"Why didn't you use it?" The smile died, instantly.
"Using it, Thanos, that's the purple guy, he was basically a god, it nearly killed him. A normal human would die almost instantly."
"Oh." Ned couldn't think of anything else to say.
"And then, just when we were losing, everything just stopped.
"Wait, what do you mean, what happened.?"
Another long pause "What happened with the snap, it happened again. But just to the bad guys. Even Thanos, he became dust." Peter added, almost a whisper, "Just like I did five years ago."
"Wait!" Ned's eyes widened suddenly."Someone used the gauntlet.? But you said that would kill whoever did it, who-?"
Peter looked him straight in the eye for the first time. His look simply saying one thing that didn't need to be said.
You already know.
"Stark."
Suddenly, as if a switch had been pulled at that moment, Peter began speaking again, spilling out of his mouth like a flood, fast, as though he wanted to get it all over with as soon as possible.
"We found him after the battle, he was still alive, moving, but he couldn't..- couldn't get up, I tried telling him, We won, he saved us, but he wouldn't wake up, He couldn't hear me, he couldn't-" Peter buried his face in his hands, tears spilling out like an overflowing sink. Ned closed his eyes softly, unable to imagine what his best friend had gone through. He doubted he ever would.
"Wake up, Mr Stark.
"I'm sorry." Ned couldn't think of any other words he could say. For a long time. all he could he hear was Peter's sobbing, almost as though it wouldn't ever end. And for that, Ned wouldn't blame him.
"He'd be proud of you." And Ned meant it.
Peter looked back, through his tears. And smiled.
"Thanks."
As I said, it's short, but I wanted to do something to help deal with the whole scene. Peter's "Wake up, Mr Stark, we won."Literally broke my heart, marks the seconds time that I've ever cried in a movie, and the first time I've ever cried in a MCU film. So thank you for that :)
.
Quick question, do you think Tony left Peter anything in his will (assuming he guessed he might die) if so, what?
okie bye
