There sat a girl upon a cold stone bench, her bushy brown hair whipping carelessly around her downcast face. Her dark chocolate eyes, normally bright and full of naivety and curiosity, swim in tears, tears that she fights to hold at bay, and are now dull and lifeless. She sits there, her mind encompassed on her thoughts, void of the world around her. The air is heavy with gloom and depression, so no one dares to approach the brooding girl.

He sits there, watching her, his long blonde hair dangling in front of his eyes, wondering why she seems so broken. He thinks to himself, 'What could've broken this girl? What could have her so unhappy and her eyes so dead?'. He's seen her before, at her very best, when those dark chocolate eyes, that he's grown to love, were bright and shining, lighting up with each of her contagiously child-like giggles. He wants nothing more than to go to her, to comfort her, to hold her, to love her.

"It is my drastic imperfections that will cause me to always be alone. I am not pretty, I am nothing special and that is why no one will have me. Why no one will love me," She whispers silently to herself, a single tear escapes as she closes her eyes, wishing she was somewhere and someone else.

He sees the single tear escape her and rushes to her side, clutching her tightly to his chest. Her body racks with sobs and she clings desperately to him, almost as though she believes he isn't real but a figment of her imagination. As she pulls away, he feels his shirt clinging to him, wet with her tears. He sees the tears still falling silently down her colored cheeks as she focuses her eyes on him, opening her mouth to ask, "are you here to love me?"

He raises his hand and brushes her hair away from her face, wiping her tears away with his thumb before lowering his lips to hers. He pours his love into the kiss, his heart pounding quickly away inside his chest as he bruises his love's lips with his crushing kiss.

"I was made to love you," is the whisper she hears from her steel-eyed savior as he pulls away, touching his forehead to hers and capturing her in his arms again.
