So late last night I was looking through the ハルカ (Haruka) tag and I found all these adorable Hoennshipping fanarts (which in case you're wondering, is tagged as ユウハル aka 'yuuharu'). Anyways, I couldn't help myself from writing this.

So, here you go. Just a little drabble of mine as I start to get back into writing fanfiction. You can expect more out of me soon!

Also, Disclaimer: Under no circumstances do I own Pokemon or any of the characters associated with it. That would be weird.

No one was all that surprised when they announced their relationship.

And really, after all that they had been through, together, it made sense.

All the battles hard fought and bravely won, they did it side by side. All the times they came to each others rescue, not because they felt pity or thought the other weak but because they couldn't even imagine what life would be like without his goofy grins or her reckless sincerity.

They knew things about each other that no one else was privy to and they liked it that way just fine. The nights spent awake, looking each other in the eyes (his amber and her baby blues) and whispering their secrets and insecurities because there was trust and so much of it. When your life has been put on the line so many times and this person right here next to you has protected it so, so much, and with so much compassion, that little thing called trust tends to come oh so easily. These nights were much more intimate than any moment of passion they'd ever share together.

There were critics, of course. To outsiders, they were too young and not mature enough to handle this and couldn't possibly understand any notion of love; but if you really knew them, if you had witnessed firsthand the trials and tribulations that come with saving the whole goddamned region from impending doom and destruction, you understood that they were perhaps more mature than all of you.

If you had seen the fire in their eyes as they threw themselves into a conflict to save this island and all the people who called it home, not because they had to but because it was the right thing to do, well...

You had no objections when they appeared before you, fingers interlaced and smiling so brightly it was contagious and almost hurt.

None at all.
