Celebrating and Mourning
Edward's POV
Today is the day I had been wanting and dreading for the longest year of my existence. Today was Nessie's first birthday, even though she looked way beyond her age. And today was also one year since the lost of my one and only love. The love I was willing to die for any minute, only being pushed back by the fact that I had to take care of my daughter. Isabella Marie Swan Cullen. We had been married for less than a month, and none of us were ready to part our ways.
I continued to think, only having my train of thoughts being broken when Nessie slowly walked up to me.
"Daddy?" She said in a small whisper, knowing I could hear her perfectly well.
"Yes sweetheart?" I replied, raising my head to look straight into her chocolate brown eyes. An exact copy of my Bella's eyes. I kept my emotions in to not let my daughter know the pain I was going through.
"Can we go to the park?" She slowly answered.
I creased my forehead. That seemed like an unusual request. Normally she didn't enjoy going to the park; especially the one down the Forks main highway. It was the only one in the entire town of Forks large enough to be considered a park and not yet a forest. I was confused, but I tried not to read her thoughts as I didn't want to feel like she had no privacy.
"I want to go to the park." She continued.
"Sure, sure, umm…is anyone else going to come along?" I knew well enough that my nosy siblings always wanted to invade our father/daughter bonding time.
"Errr…well..-" She tried to reply before a loud crack and Alice, Emmett, Jasper, Rosalie and that dog Jacob crashed through the door like little children fighting over candy.
"Oh My Gosh!! Are you guys going to a park?? Ooooooo……can we join you?? Pretty, pretty, pretty please??' Alice screamed with joy as excitement glistened on her eyes.
"I'-errr…well…we were…" Nessie started before Jacob, Alice and Emmett were kneeling on the floor begging like a dog for a treat. Oh wait..Jacob was a dog begging for a treat.
Nessie as usual, gave in after seeing them so desperate to go with us.
"Oh fine! But, why do you want to go anyway? I mean what's so interesting about going to the park?" She wondered the same question that was going through my head.
"Oh silly! Not THAT park! I was thinking rather going to DISNEYLAND!!" She practically screamed so loud I thought my ears were going to fall out.
"Disneyland?" Nessie and I both wondered out loud like we've never heard of it before.
"Of course! I've already booked our flights and packed all of what you need. Now let's go!" Alice said before we even comprehended what she was saying.
In less than an hour, we were already at Seattle Airport, waiting to board the plane. Of course, Alice had booked is first class seats. We quickly made our way through the terminal and in a matter of minutes, boarded a plane to Los Angeles. This was going to be another long day of existence without Bella.
