Hello!
So... Originally, this was supposed to be a one-shot story about Merlin and Morgana having a kind of midnight conversation (without the trying-to-kill-the-other thing) about... stuff (mostly it's about angst stuff, because, you know, I love angst-y stories). But I found myself writing sentences that are more adequate for a rhyming poetry than for a... story. So I thought of just letting go and this was the result. Now this has, like, a long (not really that long, but I like to exaggerate XD) continuation. But I realized that it didn't sound very good when a rhyming poetry is that long (at least for me, anyway). The rhyming sounded repetitive and dull. And so then I decided to stop it where I stopped it. But if you have any protests or disagree with me on the continuation thing, feel free to say so. I'm having my doubts, so an outsider's perspective might be enlightening...
Anyway! Review what you think. Corrections, suggestions, opinions, comments are welcomed.
Enjoy! ^ ^
Reprieve
It was in a fading September
Under the silvery moonlight
When the fires were turned to embers
And the world was covered by the dark
By a spark of kindness from Fate
Two lonely souls meet
Of sorrow and joy, they painted
This heart-breaking little scene:
As a boy sat alone,
Staring at the stars,
A rustle invaded his ears
And a familiar figure appeared.
"For tonight I'm but a stranger
Who wishes only to rest
You have my word, my lady,"
the boy softly said.
Then a small smile graced
The mouth of this boy
Fitting perfectly on his face—
The very picture of sorrowful joy.
A second had passed
Before the girl decided
So sitting down on the ground
She tiredly answered,
"Very well then, stranger,
For tonight I'll believe.
Make space for me, will you?
I, too, would like some reprieve."
Resting her tired heart for a while
The girl's mouth curved a bit
For it was a long time since she'd ever known
A respite as good as this
So while the moon shined through the world,
And the trees swayed softly in the breeze,
These two lonely souls pretended
That everything was at ease
A boy and a girl
Forever forced to grow and learn
But tonight they sat and rested
Briefly hidden from the world
