The walk through the school halls between periods now felt like hell for Ed. It was the very last year of high school, and he had gotten his stuff together well enough to have a 3.0 GPA by first semester. At this rate, Ed would graduate on honour roll. The football star was happy in his first relationship, and eager to graduate. Now more than halfway through the school year, he just wants it all to end.
Ed stood at his locker, exchanging textbooks for his next classes. "Hey, Ed!" A familiar voice called. Ed looked to his right side where Kevin and Jonny were walking up to him. The moment they made eye contact, Kevin smirked at Ed. "Goin' to math?" Kevin asked, putting his face in Ed's and knocking the books from his hands. The books hit the floor with a thud as Ed just stood there, taking Kevin's crap like he has their whole life. "What's wrong, Ed? Cat got your tongue?" Kevin asked, shoving him into the locker. He stepped in closer, and Ed could smell and feel Kevin's nasty, hot breath on his neck. "Or are you just choking on your boyfriend's dick?" Kevin whispered in Ed's ear. Ed stood paralysed as Kevin and Johnny laughed.
"Yeah right, Kev! I bet Eddy's dick is too small for that!" Jonny added. The two thought they were a riot. Kevin backed off, and Ed started to pick up his books. Kevin then kneed Ed in the gut, and pulled him up by his shirt so they were face to face. "You better take your faggoty ass off the team, if you know what's good for ya." He said, quietly. "No one wants to catch the fag disease"
"Hey!" A voice cried. Sarah. "Leave my brother alone!" Kevin laughed and released Ed. Jonny eyebrows furrowed. "Sarah? You're in high school now?" Jonny asked, confused. "I sure am! What do you two think you're doing to Ed?" She yelled. Kevin and Jonny laughed, and ignored her. Sarah uttered a growl, just like that of an animal. She then pushed Jonny into a locker with great force, like it was nothing. It was clear Kevin and Jonny underestimated the freshman's strength. Kevin backed away. "What the fuck Sarah?! What did Jonny do to you?!" Kevin asked, as Jonny picked himself up and ran away in fear. " 'What the fuck' yourself, Kevin. Quit pickin' on Ed!" Kevin scoffed. "Why should I? Homo deserves it anyways." Another growl came from deep within Sarah.
"You know what, Kevin? Fuck you. Fuck you for picking on my brother for being gay. So fucking what? Why do you care? That's who he is. It has nothing to do with you. So what if he has a boyfriend? Eddy and Ed are in love, and that doesn't make them diseased. Ed is one of the greatest people I know and I'll always have his back no matter what. Just fuck you, Kevin. I stand behind Ed 100 fucking percent. He doesn't need shitty people like you. Go away, get the fuck out of his business - and Eddy's too! People like you are what's keeping the world from moving on!" Kevin was shocked, to say the least. "...Fine. Sorry." He said, emotionless as he walked away. Sarah then turned to Ed and hugged him. "Fuck him. I love you, Ed." Ed was amazed at his little sister. "I love you too, Sarah. Thank you." The bell rang, and Sarah trotted off to class, leaving her big brother motionless in awe.
