I've only seen Hamtaro three times on Cartoon Network, so I don't really know any of the character's names, save a few. I don't know the Japanese names, or else I would have used those instead. I don't own the characters at all. Hamtaro and other characters belong to its respective owners (I believe Shogakukan). This is written based upon the fifth episode appearing on Cartoon Network where the hamsters think that the stars are candy, or "sugar diamonds." It could be "diamonds of sugar" or something, but it's all the same thing. Let me know if you know what the term they used in the show.

Wow, Look at the Sugar Diamonds!

"This week we're expecting the annual Camon Meteor Shower. You can find out more information on this as the meteors fall at www.mshower.com/camon. And onto other news…" reported the radio forecaster.

Laura looked to Hamtaro. "Wow! A meteor shower! I've never seen one before!"

Hamtaro cocked his head to the side. 'A meteor shower? Never heard of it. I wonder what that is. Sounds like something lots of fun! I wonder if the Ham-Hams know what one is."

After Laura left for school, Hamtaro escaped his home and visited the Clubhouse to discuss the shower with the other hamsters. Boss told everyone to visit the clubhouse that night to observe this meteor shower.

That night the hamsters ate dinner outside; they had to see what this "meteor shower" was.

"Wow, Mommy, Daddy! Look at the meteor shower!" shouted Laura, pointing at the falling stars.

Falling stars? But, I thought those were Sugar Diamonds! So are the falling Sugar Diamonds the meteor shower? thought Hamtaro. "Ham-Hams!" he called to the other hamsters. "We need to catch the Sugar Diamonds!"

"Oh, you are right, Hamtaro. We never caught them last time. They are so beautiful, don't you think?" asked Bijou.

"Oh, yes, they are, Bijou!" said Boss, moving closer to Bijou.

Penelope looked up, and pointed in the same direction. "Ukyuuu!"

The remaining hamsters looked up, only to see the beautiful "sugar diamond" fall from the sky.

"It's pretty…" they murmured.

Actually, it was more like, "It's pre—," because their sought after "sugar diamond" fell on them.
