I wrote this a little while ago and it wasn't exactly for Pirates of the Caribbean, but I thought it fitted quite well.

I reread this poem rather recently and decided to edit it, with this as the result. I was loath to go ahead and completely delete the former version however so, if you're curious, you can read it in Chapter 2.

~*~Terra Rain~*~

The Gypsy Girl

I watched the stars wheel o'er-head,
My body waited down like lead,
Waiting an eternity here for you,
Watching the sea; seven shades of blue.

I gave my love to a pirate's blood,
Ale and Whiskey laced with rum.
Salt air whips bright skirts now stained with mud,
The surf fills my ears with drums.

Gypsy girl, how long will you wait?
Black tresses curled to the horizon.
The time between then and now t'was fate.
You know your sailor love is dead.

The ocean is a double-blade,
Both loves and reigns those it holds.
Adventure swells with every crest,
And mystery taints its darkest depths.

Do not seek too far fair maid!
Beware the lull and pull of tide.
Your love's farewell to this world said,
All that is sure upon those waves is death.

Green froth fingers blue,
Dancing 'round rugged coral.
Clouds pass and suns end,
As gulls scream into the wind.
