A/N: So after years of lurking at FF, I've decided to submit something I wrote. I don't know how to write stories but this poem forced itself out. I'm giving it a T rating because it mentions war and alludes to death. I welcome any comments/suggestions on my first foray in fanfiction.
You and Me, or else my Sanity
I wish I knew how to write a story
A story about you and me
Once upon a time far, far away
I watched you flying so free
The sun was bright and so were your eyes
I couldn't imagine them so dull
But last month when you came back to fight
I could taste the fear, your need to cull
You walked into that forest with us all distracted
My heart had stopped for a moment
I didn't have time to think while fighting
What that gust of wind then meant
It was you
Walking by me
It was you
Saying goodbye
I have horrid dreams still today
The war made sure of that
Yet in my soul I knew you would live
You wouldn't abandon me without combat
We'd miraculously survive the evils of Tom
So you could feel the wrath of my fear
And soothe me with your true love, a needed balm
I simply needed you near
Don't walk away from me and shut me out
So much I need to deal with now
The loss of Fred is hard to bear
I need you, I need you, forever now
Be mine for eternity, that's what I ask of you
Use for me your humanity
Let us be selfish I ardently plead
Or I will lose my sanity
