Well, after stalling and waiting and being scared, I finally decided to register and post! Yay me! So, without further ado, my first fanfic!
And if it's a little on the short side, I apologize. It is a one shot, after all.

The Love
of a Bartender
By girlperson2235
Love.
How
could a guy like me even begin to think about a thing like
that?
Something as beautiful as love
Could never linger around
a guy as horrible as me.
Moe Szyslak wiped the counter of his tavern. The lights were way down low, giving the bar a dim feeling. Dim and dirty: that was the atmosphere; just as it always was. It seemed like another ordinary day as his bar flies walked in and out. And such was the life of Moe Szyslak. As if on cue, Homer Simpson strolled in, "Give me a Duff, Moe."
Not aware of his surroundings, Moe smacked a glass onto the table and filled it with beer. It wasn't until two seconds afterwards he realized that Homer had brought a guest along with him.
She was a doll. Her eyes sparkled when she laughed and her hair graced the wind when it blew. I hadn't seen her in a while, so lookin' at her kinda made my heart skip a beat while feelings of warmth and love seeped inside me.
"Moe! It's overflowing!"
"Oh!" Moe dropped the bottle on the floor, "Err...sorry about that, Homer. I didn't know you were bringing along--"
"Can't talk, drinking," Homer sipped his beer in satisfaction.
It's so difficult for me to express my feelings. But I just had to show her I loved her. I just had to tell her now before I never saw her again.
Moe's eyes darted back and forth from her eyes to Homer.
But then I remembered Homer...what would he think? What would he say? My mind ran rampant with the thoughts and possibilities of what I could do and what could happen. I remembered when he banned me from seeing her for that short period of time. It might have been short, but it felt like forever! God, I never felt so broken!
Moe looked at her, and she at him. Then, for a few seconds, the tavern faded from view and he only saw her. She didn't say anything, but the look in her eyes said enough.
I did the first thing I could think of.
Moe picked her up and held her lovingly in his arms. And she, gazing into his eyes, kissed him softly on his upper lip.
...Just like she kissed me before.
"I missed ya, sweetheart."
She giggled at his words and placed her hand on top of his. Moe glanced over at Homer, anxious of his reaction. However, to his happiness, Homer was smiling.
Love.
I
never figured out how a guy like me stumbled upon a gal like
her.
Love ain't so crazy after all.
I guess that it's not
impossible.
I guess that it comes in all shapes and sizes.
I just woulda never guessed it'd come from a baby...
Well, there's my first fic. Tell me what you think! Please, no flames.
