Baltimore Werewolf
Chapter One: Downhill
As Diana Ballard stared at the mutilated corpse and the torn pink dress of the little girl that was killed, she had a feeling of nausea in her stomach, it could be dread.
From the questioning of the father, her name was Alicia Brown, age seven. She was camping with her father for the weekend and she was taking a walk in the woods after supper. When she was gone for over an hour, and that's when he walked to the nearby lake and saw her body, or what was left, laying on the ground. That was two hours ago.
At three in the morning, Diana Ballard was called out of bed and taken to the middle of the dense forest to watch the clean up crew pick up the girl. She didn't understand why she was brought out into the crime scene since it looked like a wild animal got at her. That was until they showed her the footsteps imprinted in the ground, a humans.
She never saw anything like this, and she hoped to never again. A person as depraved and sick as this had to be brought in, and that was her job.
As Diana sat on the hood of her car watching the forensics picking up the body, her newest partner, rookie, Gregory Kline came over to her with a cup of coffee.
Gregory Kline was a tall 20 something with a full head of wavy blond hair and an even suntan. He looked more like a surfer then a detective. Personally, Diana was attracted, but it was pure lust since she greatly disliked the way he brown nosed superiors. He did to her for their first few weeks, but after a while it didn't work he gave up.
"Awake yet, Detective Ballard?" He asked as he handed her a black coffee. Diana gave him a look of annoyingness and took a drink of her coffee.
"Have any ideas about who could have done this?" He asked her, still trying to make conversation.
Diana had a few ideas, but ever since her encounter with two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, she was never sure what murder was human and what murder was something else. Something else i.e. demons and ghosts.
Being shown the world of demons and monsters was like having clouds lifted in her life, only instead of a shining sun behind those clouds, a darker sky was there.
There was a few time she considered calling the brothers, a few cases that could have been supernatural, but turned out they weren't. After what she heard a week ago, she couldn't call them now. Apparently they were caught in an explosion at a police station in Monument, Colorado. Now she could never call for advice.
"I have a few ideas." She said.
"You gonna share them?"
"Probably not." Diana told him.
Gregory Kline gave up and sat there with her looking at the people. She was quite sure that maybe this would be her first supernatural case. The facts were there in front of her. Mutilated little girl, full moon, which she though could mean a werewolf. Her slight knowledge of werewolf lore was down to movies she watched with her deceased boyfriend.
First of all, silver was a weakness, full moons brought them out, and that was about were it stopped. But one thing she thought was wrong was that she saw human footprints, not paw prints. Ever movie she saw made it clear that werewolves fully transformed into wolf creatures.
"Detective Kline, stay here until they are finished, I'm going to the station to research." She told him as she walked to the drivers seat.
"Research what, exactly?" He asked her. He got off the hood as she backed up.
"I don't really know yet." She said, and she drove off into the city.
Kind of short, next chapters will be longer. I know where this is going, so, yay! Review please!
