Kagome yawned and rubbed her eyes as a small baby cried in her arms. The baby was 2 months old already, but was very small for her age. She had beautiful black hair, like her mothers, and had a golden color for her eyes, like her father's. They flickered back and forth as they watched Kagome's tired face.

"Please go to sleep, Sachi," pleaded an older Kagome.

She was dead tired. She had been caring for the baby non-stop. Sachi was a curious child, always wanting to see what was going on. Yet she was alert like her father. Her parents had decided to name her Sachi because the name meant joy. They felt the name Sachi fitted her. She was a joy to their lives.

Just then, a man walked into the room. He was tall and had pure white hair. On top of his head was a pair of dog ears. They twitched back and forth as they listened to Sachi cry. Kagome turned and smiled as she saw the man.

"Inuyasha! Thank god you're home. Please watch Sachi. I am dead tired, and I need some sleep," she said, her eyes pleading. Inuyasha nodded. He understood. Taking caring of a baby was a lot of work. Kagome did most of the work of taking care of her while he was out working. It seemed to be tiring taking care of a baby.

Inuyasha held out his arms, and took the baby as Kagome handed her to him. She gave him a thankful look. Before going off to bed, she slipped over and kissed him on the cheek. He smiled at her, and she smiled back. Kagome then turned and walked down the hall to the bedroom. She slid open the door, and walked inside, closing it behind her.

Inuyasha stared down at Sachi. She stared right back at him. What was he supposed to do with her? He was kind of awkward around littler kids and babies. Inuyasha smiled at Sachi's resemblance to Kagome. The two looked alike except for Sachi's eyes. They were the color of his. Sachi had her mother's beauty, that's for sure.

Inuyasha sighed, and began rocking her. He hoped she would fall asleep. Then he could he put her in her cradle. Right now, though, the baby was wide awake. She seemed to like staring up at her father's face. He gave her a small smile. Sachi was the cutest baby he had ever seen. Maybe he thought that because he was hers.

An idea struck him. When his mother was alive, she used to sing him a song to get him to fall asleep when he was a little boy. Inuyasha always had had a hard time falling asleep when he was young. He searched his head trying to come up with the words. What were they? He snapped his fingers as he remembered after a few moments.

He opened his mouth and began singing, in a low deep voice.

Rock-a-bye baby, in the treetop
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock
When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall
And down will come baby, cradle and all

Baby is drowsing, cozy and fair
Mother sits near, in her rocking chair
Forward and back, the cradle she swings
And though baby sleeps, he hears what she sings

From the high rooftops, down to the sea
No one's as dear, as baby to me
Wee little fingers, eyes wide and bright

Now sound asleep, until morning light.

After he had finished singing, Sachi had fallen asleep in his arms. He rocked her a few more times making sure she was sound asleep. The baby didn't move. She looked so peaceful, sleeping in her father's arms. Inuyasha smiled at her. She looked like Kagome when she slept. Carefully, he walked to the other side of the room. He gently set her down in her cradle. Sachi curled up with a blanket Inuyasha had put over her. Inuyasha stayed there a moment longer, just watching her. Slowly, he bent down and kissed her small cheek
