Running Free

I had to run, I had to get away from them, that's all I could remember, run. The armored men were gaining on me, chasing me down with horses and trolls, firing bolts of magic and steel at me. I had only passed by them to receive this hostility.

Some were shouting at me, some were just trying to kill me, and for what? I heard one call me a 'bloody fiend' but the rest was just noise. I had been running for a while now, maybe a couple of hours even. The sun was rising and the men were gaining, soon there would be nowhere to run or hide, especially since the sunlight made me feel weak and sick.

That's when I heard it, a screeching roar, I knew what was it, and I knew that I would soon be dead. A dragon flew overhead and landed not ten meters behind me, I just kept running, though thinking that it was in vain. After a few seconds, I turned back to see the uniformed men fighting the beast, this was my chance. I was already in the pale, and if I could make it to Windhelm, I would be safe, they wouldn't dare attack me there.

I just kept running, though I thought my heart was going to explode. Then I say it, Windhelm, hold of the nords, built by Ysgramor or Ysmir, I can never remember the nord history. It took a few minutes but I made it, I got to the bridge, I was finally safe. I walked across the bridge with relief in my heart, but as I reached for the main gate, I felt it. Cold metal, rapping around my torso, constricting me. I fell to the floor rapped in chains. The armored men approached, the one I guessed to be their leader spoke. "None escape the Dawnguard, boy. Your days are up parasite," the redguard said with disgust in his voice.

He raised his sword just a moment before it all went black.
