A small poem from the pov of Padmé's handmaidens.. It was written while I was listening to Enya's Fallen Embers. It may explain the use of certain words.
Once when in glory you were crowned
We were there
Once when terror had fallen from our blue sky
We were there
Once when all hope was fading for our people
We were there with you
When happiness seemed to endure
We smiled with you
When no battle could be lost
We fought by your side
When sacrifice was deemed necessary
We died for you
Darkness was falling on your amber eyes
But we stood our ground
Joy was followed by despair like night swallowed day
But we crept in your shadow
Duty dueled against love
But we stood silently with you
When you rushed into your last battle
You left us
When you stood alone against the darkness
You left us
When you traded life for defeat
You left us
Once when you stood next to us
We were brave your highness
No more decoys
There is no one left to hide
No more handmaidens
There is no on left to serve
No more bodyguards
There is no one left to protect
But when duty shall call us with your voice
We will be there
