AUTHOR'S NOTE: Alright, this is a drabble series about the Rookie Eleven in the far future. About their life, love, children, etc. There will be mention of Next Gen. OCs here and there but, usually, they won't have too much of a prominent role. Maybe in the future, if I like one their stories enough, I'll write a fanfic about the kids. It'll prolly be about the Jounin's kids though, because they'll most likely be the ones featured in the drabble series the most. The Konoha Elevens' kids are all academy students or younger right now. I'll have some reference pictures of the OCs up on my DA, though.
Anyway, the drabbles will most likely be connected in little ways and, I don't know for sure if they'll all be in order. You may have one here and then next chapter it's four years before that. ANYWAY, here's the first drabble. It's from Tenten's perspective, see if you can guess the couple here. And, if you're confused, I'll try to explain. xD

Sometimes she missed them, the team, the days they had spent together. The innocence of genin. She missed it all, the way Lee's face lit up whenever Gai praised him, the quiet snort Neji would make whenever Gai and Lee went off on a tandem. The smiles they'd share, all three of them. That's what she misses the most, she supposes. The way Lee would smile as if the world was perfect, the secret smiles Neji would have, when he thought no one was looking, and the way everything just seemed to fit. They were happy back then.
They still are now but, now the smiles are strained. They all three worry now, worry about the uncertainty of the future, worry how long their little charade can keep going on. They can't all keep sleeping together, someone will find out soon enough. Gai knows, she's sure of this, he doesn't say anything but she knows he knows. She can tell, he watches them all too closely now. Looks for signs, hands that linger too long.
He's worried, too.
And he should be.
They all should.
They got off lucky, last time, with the twins. It was apparent with them that Neji was not their father and, that's all they're really worried about. What the Hyuuga Clan will say- What they'll do. That's their biggest fear. No one cares if it just seems that Lee and herself are sleeping together but, if someone found out about all three of them were sleeping together... Hell, even if it was just herself and Neji, there would be trouble.
The Hyuuga do not take kindly to their kekkei genkei being bred outside the clan, they had made that apparent when Hinata's oldest child was born. They had forced the cursed seal onto both him and his own mother, despite the little child's apparent blindness. Hinata had been lucky her other two were born without the byakugan.
Tenten doesn't think she'll be as lucky.
All she can do is- all they can do is hope is that Hanabi becomes clan head before their next child is born, that or Naruto is made the Hokage. Naruto had promised, he had promised- but it doesn't mean much. So, all they can do is hope and pray.
And maybe, maybe if they're lucky this one will look like the twins.
And then they won't need to worry.
And then their days can continue on, happy and free, like this.
Her eyes drift to the scene before her, her twin boys running around, chased by both Neji and Lee. Neji looks up, after a moment, and smiles. Not his old smile no, now it's strained and filled with worry as his eyes drift to her own growing belly.
And Tenten flashes back her own, worried smile because it's all she can really do.
And then she decides, as Neji turns back to grab one of the closer twins that, yes, she misses their smiles the most.
But, maybe one day she'll see them again.
Until then she can only pray.
