I've never really written fanfiction before, but I kind of wanted to try out a Superhero!Glee AU. This is just part 1, not sure if I am going to continue it, but there are further plot points to be delved into :)

Rachel Berry hoisted the strap of her aqua messenger bag over her shoulder and walked out of Pre-Calc. She wasn't heading towards her normal 12:00 destination of the cafeteria quite yet. The Glee Club sign-up sheet was said to be posted during lunch, and she wanted to have the initiative. Her gold star sticker sheet at the ready, Mr. Schuester was just ducking back into the choir room when she landed in front of the pristine, still-warm-from-the-printer sheet of paper that read Glee Club: Sign Up! From the outside, Rachel may have looked like an ambitious, yet ordinary teenager. However, she, and what she was a part of, was so much more.

Rachel knew that what she'd done would not be taken well. After all, she hadn't told the others yet about how she was planning on hiding their identities, and for some it may seem demeaning. However, Rachel knew that in the long run, they would understand, because it meant being closer to defeating the enemy. Scribbling the 11 other names onto the list (quickly, in case any of them decide to come down the hall at that moment), she promised to herself that she would stand by her decision to do this, no matter what. It was the only way to save the city.

It was difficult to get through the day without giving away what she had done. Trying to carry on normal conversations with her teammates was a struggle in order to keep her secret down until their daily meetings. At 5 each night, every member of the Savior League would convene in Rachel's basement. From a normal visitor on Oscar night, it would seem like a classy party zone with a stage, a full bar, and lights. However, the stage descends into a secret lair, full of high tech monitors, tracking equipment, extra supersuits and weapons. Rachel's dads, Hiram and Leroy, take great pride in their basement. In front of their guests, it's the glamorous Oscars lounge. In front of the kids, it's what's keeping the city of Metropolis safe.

"Hey Rachel."

"Oh, hi Kurt." Kurt Hummel was one of Rachel's closest friends. Though they sometimes get a little rocky, Kurt confides in Rachel as Rachel confides in him. They began to walk towards the cafeteria, where they and some of the others sit together at lunch.

"Blaine and I were headed to the Diner this afternoon, we were wondering if you wanted to come with." And with Kurt came his boyfriend, Blaine.

"Um, that sounds fantastic Kurt but I have…an essay to do." Rachel didn't think she would have to willpower to maintain any other conversation without revealing her actions.

"Okay, Rachel" Kurt gave her a knowing sideways glance. She was hiding something, he just didn't know what. Suddenly, the hallway got colder. Some students were startled, others didn't notice, but Rachel knew it was Kurt's way of letting her know that he wanted in on what she did.

Startled by Kurt's illegitimate use of his powers, Rachel stopped. She was much shorter than Kurt, so it was difficult to try to keep an authoritative stance. "Listen. I'll let you know what's going on tonight. It may not…go over for well for some of the others but I think you'll like what I've done. But you'll just have to wait." Giving a quick nod and worrying that she may have come off as mean, she left Kurt in the hallway for the lunch line.

Kurt sighed. Rachel was always like this. The girl couldn't keep a secret for the life of her, but this seemed important. He muttered under his breath. "I guess I'll just have to wait."
