My body ached as it came to my realization of a pair of eyes watching from a small hole in the corner of my cell. The eyes were cast in shadows but I could tell they were watching me. Observing me. Studying me. It was probably another one of Creedy's guard's he assigned to make sure V didn't teach me any tricks. I stood up; it took every ounce of strength in my body as I had not yet recovered from the vicious torture of Creedy. I made my way over to the pair of eyes in the wall, they closed but did not move.

"I know you're there. Just leave me alone!" I shouted the hatred coursing through my veins. As I stumbled closer I could see red scars and bruises imprinted in the very whites of the eyes but they could still see me.

"V?" I asked the darkness. My ears picked up the faint sound of footsteps sprinting down the long gray hallway. I knew that whomever the eyes belonged to they meant me no harm. But it was just a feeling and as I learned before my feelings were not always the most accurate.

Days passed still no more letters from Veronica, she was my last hope, the only reason I hung on to this torturous life. A noise from the hallway outside of my cell woke me. My door opened letting in a stream of unforgiving, unrelenting florescent light.

"It's time." The man said, suddenly his voice softened and he said in a low whisper. "All they want is information and you will be free."

"Thank you but I would rather die behind the chemical sheds." I responded

The man sighed heavily and said "Come with me"

My feet were dragged along the long hallway and floated in the air for a moment before they hit the hard black pavement. I was stood in front of a large container full of foul smelling liquid. A line of five soldiers filed out of the door each carrying fully loaded machine guns and after a brief pause another man set his foot in the door way. A leather boot followed by a long flowing cape.

"V." my knees gave way as the familiar mask turned to face me. The last soldier in line turned around. I could see the shock ripple through his body as he clutched the trigger and pointed his weapon, but he was too slow. The silver knife gleamed in the sunlight and was cast into the shadows of the soldier's body as he fell to the ground. The same swift motion was repeated for each of the other four soldiers. After the last body fell he turned to me, the same familiar leather stretched out before me and reminded me of the night we met.

"Are you O.K.?" he asked

"Yes…I am now." I said after a pause. He cocked his head, perplexed.

"I had to wait till the opportune moment. Now, come we must hurry. Creedy will come soon." He added

"Thank you for finally coming" I said as I took his hand. He pulled me up effortlessly and placed his cloak around my shoulders.
