Emmett's Sexist Remark

Bella smiled as she parker her truck into the Cullen driveway. Alice was already in the bed of her truck when she climbed out.

"Did you bring them?"

Bella smiled at the bouncing girl. "Yeah, I brought half a dozen." She climbed into the bed and picked up a plastic bag.

"Good. Esme has the steak marinating now." The girls jumped down and walked to the house. "And Edward is making the salad."

"You're all going through a lot of trouble just to make dinner for me. You really didn't need too."

Alice smiled and gave Bella a one armed hug. "We love you, and we love to spoil you. Don't worry about it. You can take the left-over's home to Charlie."

Bella sighed.

The girls walked through the house and went into the kitchen. As soon as Bella saw Edward, in an apron, she felt her breath catch.

"Hello love," Edward said. He walked over to her and gave her a kiss. "How are you?"

"Wonderful now," she replied dreamily.

"Hum- hem," Alice coughed. "Excuse me, Edward, but Bella and I have work to do. Go make salad."

Alice then dragged Bella outside on the deck. "Okay, now how do you do this?"

Well, let me get the corn out." Bella pulled each corn ear out of the plastic bag and then them on a table. "Okay, you pull all the leaves off like so, then pull out the silk, and put it in the bag like so. Then you break off the end, and put it all in the bag."

"That looks like fun!" Alice grabbed an ear and had it husked before Bella could blink.

"Try doing three dozen and human speed and strength. I had to do that for a family reunion one year."

"Hey, what are you guys doing?" Emmett asked as poked his outside.

"Husking corn," Alice replied.

"Would you like to help?"

"Ha, that's woman's work."

Alice froze, then slowly turned to face Emmett, giving him the death glare. "What did you say?"

"You heard me shrimp. Woman's work and I'm a manly man."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah."

When Alice lunged and Emmett he ran away.

Bella signed and finished the corn.
