Kagome looked at the books she had just put on her shelf, she had finished reading them a couple hours ago. She never thought she would like the story her friends had been gushing over and had become obsessed with.
The story was alright, but she was more fascinated in the world that was created. A world of vampires.
She didn't really think the relationship between Bella and Edward was that healthy, but she could respect what the two had went through.
Sighing Kagome sat on her bed, her life was boring now. She didn't have much she could do. She couldn't go to college because of how bad she did through high school. She barely passed to get her diploma.
Kagome had been too busy hunting jewel shards and fighting demons to really pay attention to her grades...and now that she no longer did those things...she had already screwed up her life.
It wasn't like she had much of an option back then...well she did, but Kagome did what felt right to her, and fighting demons while collecting Jewel shards so Naraku didn't get them was pretty important to her back then.
The downfall of the jewel being completed...it merged with her. When the last of the jewel shards were put together it went straight back into her body and merged with her body and soul.
There was a lot of side effects to this happening. She had learned this over time. You see...she competed the Jewel over ten years ago...and she still looked like she was eighteen.
She hadn't aged a day.
Kagome Higurashi was forever stuck in the body of a teenager. She didn't know how long this would last...maybe one day she would age again...but Kagome was just giving herself false hope with telling herself that.
No matter how hard she tried to make things go back to normal, she couldn't.
That is why she tends to read a lot.
Kagome worked in the museum when she could, it helped pay for her apartment and other things she wanted. The job at the museum was one of the only decent jobs she could get. She did look young, so she had to make due with what she had.
Kagome knew she was going to have to move soon though, and her family knew it too. People had already been to suspect something.
One can only look young so long.
Yuki Note: Hope you all enjoy this. This is really different than my other twilight/inu fics. XD
