Curiosity
I do not own Sherlock in any way.
A/N-This has been bouncing around in my head ever since I bought Carly Rae Jepsen's album Kiss. One of the lines is, "You know I'm gonna follow you home through rain". It reminded me of in Sherlock when Sally asks John if Sherlock followed him home.
John was on a date with whatever girl he was dating and Sherlock didn't want to stay in the flat by himself, since there was a big chance that John would not be returning to the flat that night.
Sherlock threw on his long coat and scarf and headed for a small café not far from Baker Street. He entered the establishment and breathed in the smell of coffee and tea. He sat down at a booth by himself.
"What can I get you?" a girl asked.
"Black coffee, two sugars", Sherlock said. Sherlock scanned the café until his eyes landed on a young woman, who looked to be around 21 or 22. He couldn't deduce anything from her. He watched as the waitress set the woman's tea on the table.
The woman smiled and took the tea. She didn't add anything to it, so he assumed that she ordered it the exact way she wanted or the waitress knew what she liked. She brought the mug up to her lips. She inhaled the scent and then blew lightly on the tea.
He watched as she drank her tea slowly and read the book in front of her. He wondered what book it was. He wondered if it was a textbook used for a college class or something raunchy like a Harlequin romance novel. He also wondered if it was a classic like Pride & Prejudice.
Or was it Shakespeare?
She suddenly looked up and met his eyes.
It was like time slowed and it was just them two left in the café.
She shot him a small smile. She rose and put the book in her small bag.
It wasn't a purse, so she probably wasn't the girly type.
He walked as she put on a dark brown wool coat that reached her waist.
She wound a cream scarf around her neck, much like Sherlock was wearing his.
He watched as she left the café. He gracefully stood and followed her out. His coffee sat untouched.
It suddenly started raining.
She didn't run for cover like most women. This woman kept getting more and more interesting to him. She suddenly came to a door. She pulled a key out of her coat pocket and inserted it into the lock.
Instead of ducking into an alley like he normally would have, Sherlock walked up behind her.
She unlocked the door and turned. She looked up at Sherlock and asked, "Would you like to come up?"
Sherlock smiled and said, "More than anything".
