Discalimer: I own nothing

Dreams and Realities

He was amazing really; intelligent, witty, compassionate, and definitely easy on the eyes. He was the type of guy that girls would constantly swoon over like they had over Luke, but there was just something about him, some boyish charm that had wormed its way into her mind and left her staring at him for the majority of their shared classes. The current one being AP Chem which was just not on her list of things to pay attention to today. No, not with Seth Cohen sitting across the room from her. He was far more interesting than learning about whatever Low-Energy Electron Diffraction is.

She though of the feel of his hand, and how she could spend hours memorizing the feel.

She thought of his lips and how they would feel if the kissed her. What they would taste like.

She thought of the feel of his skin and his hands on her.

She thought about waking up next to him wrapped in his arms and gazing into his eyes.

She thought he was even more interesting than herself at the moment which definitely something out of the ordinary.

Seth Cohen was really getting to her.

She didn't even find Ryan more interesting than herself and she had been dating him for over four months straight now which was by far a record based on their tumultuous history.

Ryan. Damn she forgot about him. Summer too. Seth would always have Summer and she would have Ryan it couldn't really work any other way. Not that Seth would want it any other way. Really it was probably just her who was content with the way they had paired off. And for once she wasn't going to make everything about her, because she did that far more often than she liked to. No, everything would have to stay the way they were. It wasn't as though Ryan and Summer were off sneaking subtle glances and meaningful looks, and the thought that maybe Seth was on the other side of the class thinking the same thing as she was, wasn't very probable.

She was the only one thinking about what would happen if they held hand or kissed or shared anything else because it was wrong. He wasn't to think about, he was Summer's. But she always liked doing things that were wrong, that drew attention to herself and her problems. Maybe that was why she had these thoughts. That had to be it. No matter what it was though she could stop herself from indulging in them. Simple pleasures really. Some girls chose chocolate, she chose Seth, the guilty pleasure no one else would ever know. The thought of the greatness that could never be. Quite possibly the love of her life in another time and place where different choices had been made.

Sadly, with Seth they would always be ifs and never when's or now's, and Marissa Cooper realized that while Seth could quite possibly always be the man of her dreams, he would never be the man of her reality, that was Ryan. For Seth, she'd just have to wait until the early morning hours when she'd be claimed by sleep.
