A/N: At long last, I have finished chapter one, after nearly 4 years. So sorry for the wait. This is my first story that I have ever written, so please tell me if there are any flaws in my writing or any name spelled wrong. Constructive criticism is always accepted. I would also like to point out that in the beginning, some lines will be very similar or exactly the same ad the show in the beginning. Thank you and enjoy my little adaptation to the world of Code Geass. Rated M for language. I own nothing but this story, the characters and most of the world (as I will be making changes) belong to their respective owners.
Turn: 01
The day was just like any other, Rivalz and Lelouch had skipped lunch to go out to play chess with the nobility for money. Speeding down the highway in Rivalz motorcycle the two sat in complete silence. The weather was quite nice, besides the few clouds in the sky with some VTOL Gunships in the distance. "Hey, Lelouch?" Rivalz asked to break the silence, "Who are we going up against today?"
Lelouch looked up from the book he was reading and stared at the road ahead for a few moments contemplating what he had just read before giving his reply, "Just some nobility his name doesn't really matter all too much"
"If you say so…" Not wanting the quiet to return Rivalz asked another question, "Did you hear about the terrorist attack in the Victoria Building?" Lelouch looked to his left at the gunships, then back to the road.
"Yeah, sounds like a mess that the military will have to clean up."
"I heard that 51 people were killed."
"Damn massacre"
Lelouch looked at the building ahead anticipating his match against the nobility of Britannia. It was his own way of facing against all that he hated and winning without any chance of death. The idea that someone with power within the empire could lose to him was all that he needed to keep going on with his life.
When they arrived at the building there was a grand staircase leading up to the third floor, where the match was already taking place. As they walked up the stairs they could hear the nobleman berating the older man who was facing him. "Time's up from now on you have to make a move every 20 seconds." the Nobleman sneered as if it was like he had already won. It was at this point that Lelouch and Rivalz entered the room. "I see that your replacement has arrived," The Nobleman said as he stood to greet his new guests.
"Oh thank heavens," The older man said with relief in his voice.
Lelouch took the seat the man had been sitting in when the Nobleman spoke, "Good, well you have only 20 seconds to make your moves."
"Enough time" Lelouch replied.
He looked down at the board assessing the situation at hand. "You can't win this one, it's impossible right?" Rivalz questioned.
It took Lelouch 30 seconds to plan his next few moves and predict how his opponent would react. "I'll need nine minutes," Lelouch stated confidently. He picked up the king, but before he could place it the Nobleman spoke ignoring Lelouch's comment.
"You lead with the king?" He bellowed as he began to laugh heartily. Lelouch only smiled.
As Lelouch walked away from the table the Nobleman could only stare at the board in disbelief. "Eight minutes and thirty-six seconds is a new record!" Rivalz said excitedly, "I love it when you play nobles they always pay out of pride"
"He only had a short amount of time to move as well, that and as far as opponents go the nobility are tepid."
"Oh! You should play one of the Elevens they're nothing like us Britannians." They exited the building just as an announcement came on a screen behind where Rivalz parked his motorcycle.
"And now an announcement from Prince Clovis La Britannia ruler of Area 11."
"To all my imperial subjects, including the many Elevens who choose to serve the Empire of Britannia. My heart was ripped out of my chest only to be torn asunder, the remnants are filled with pain and sadness. However, as ruler of Area 11, I will not tolerate terrorism of any kind! Those who were responsible for this terrible act of violence will not escape from justice. Our fight is a righteous one. A virtuous battle to protect the well being of one and all."
"Now please a moment of silence for those we lost"
"They can mourn all they want it won't bring them back," Lelouch said matter-of-factly.
"Damn that's cold man" Rivalz replied as he readied his motorcycle. As they sped toward Ashford Academy a large semi-truck came barreling toward them. A loud honk emanated from behind them startling Rivalz causing him to swerve slightly, though he quickly recovered. Bringing up the rear from all this was the VTOL gunships, slowly closing in on the semi. That's when everything went wrong. The semi veered off the main road heading straight for an abandoned construction site. With a loud crash, the semi collided with the structure shaking the entire half-built building.
During this commotion, Rivalz had slowed down to a stop so he could watch the scene unfold. Lelouch, on the other hand, had already started to run to the truck to make sure everyone was ok. As he neared the semi he noticed that there was an opening at the top of the trailer. Deciding that this was the only way to help Lelouch climbed on top of the trailer. "Hey! Is everyone alright down there?" he called out. It was at that very moment that the semi began to move again knocking him off his feet causing him to fall into the trailer.
A/N Again sorry this took so long to get out and that this chapter is a pretty much a copy of what happens in the first part of episode one, but next chapter we have a bit of a POV change I won't say to who yet, however, most if not all of the chapter will be my own original writing. I promise to try and write longer chapters in the future.
