The year was 1890, the place was Paris, France. This is the story of many strange happenings all at the Paris Opera House. Inside a coach was Selina Kyla (The Batman) and her friend and long time lover, Bruce Wayne (The Batman).
"It is very kind of you Bruce, to go out of your way to assist me in getting to the opera house." said Selina.
"What are friends for, Selina?" asked Bruce. "Besides it will teach the horse, the way. I shall be returning in just a few hours."
Selina laughed. There was something that she had not told Bruce.
"Be sure you do, I have a great surprise for you." said Selina.
"Oh, what is it?" asked Bruce.
"It won't be a surprise if I tell you." replied Selina.
"Don't be a tease, tell me." insisted Bruce.
"Tonight, I will sing Juliet." stated Selina.
"You? Juliet?" asked Bruce. "But how can that be? Your only an understudy. What about Madam Gordon?" Selina laughed. Bruce did not see anything funny. "Of course... You're joking."
"I am not!" replied Selina angrily. "But it's a secret."
"I certainly is." said Bruce. "There's not a word about it anywhere. Not a notice, not a bill! Besides, you're not ready to sing Juliet."
"I am ready." revealed Selina. "I have been taking special lessons for the last three months."
"And who told you, you are to sing tonight?" asked Bruce.
"A voice. A secret voice that only I can hear." replied Selina.
"Is that why you've been so secretive these last few months?" asked Bruce. "The only glimpse I've had of you has been on stage."
"Yes." replied Selina. "I have seen you in your box. You really are a faithful friend."
The coach then came to a sudden stop.
"Selina..." started Bruce.
The door then opened.
"I must run. Be sure you are on time." said Selina. And with that, Selina blew Bruce a kiss. "You shall see. And you shall hear."
Bruce watched as Selina entered the opera house. This was incredible. Selina Kyle as Juliet? What was going on here?
