"Rin!" The silver headed boy jogged swiftly to this teamate, "Wait up, Rin!"
"Kakashi! Go away!" She huffed angerly, smacking him directly in his still healing eye, "I don't want to talk to you!"
The boy recoiled with a painful yelp, scratching at the bandage over his eye and blindly trying to follow the pink headed girl.
"Kakashi- stop." The soft, deep voice made the boy crumble to his knees as the blonde sensei lifted him easily. "You have to give her time to heal too"
The boy whimpered, blood seeping through the bandages covering Obito's last gift, "But, I need her." His voice was a whisper, "I need--."
The fourth Hokage nodded and patted the silver head, "Give it some time, she'll eventualy come around."
"I hate him, Sensei! I won't work with him! I refuse to! He'll just get everyone killed!"
Kakashi shuddered at the sharp words from the once loving Rin, "He's your teammate."
"So was Obito!"
"And even he wouldn't want you to treat Kaakshi this way." The blonde man sighed as he massaged his temple.
Rin hissed, "We wouldn't know. He's dead!"
"Rin! Stop it!"
"No!" She clenched her fists, "If he hadn't been such an ass - Obito would still be alive." She whirled on the silver headed boy, "You always hated him; always looked down on him!"
The yellow flash appeared between the two children, voice low and threatening, "Kakashi will carry that burden with him for the rest of his life. It's not your place to make it worse."
The girl hissed, "I want to be reassigned."
"I won't do that."
She growled, "Then punish me - because I'll never protect or heal that monster ever!"
A slience grew in the room, broken by Kakashi's whisper, "Why did you give me this eye?"
Her voice was again sharp, "Because Obito Wished it."
"You'll be reassigned tomorrow morning - Both of you."
Kakashi followed his sensei slowly, his uncovered eye surveying the group in front of him as the names were called, "Kakashi and Gai - first round."
The boy gave his oppponent an odd thumbs up, "I will fight you with all of my youth!"
There was a pause and Kakashi tilted his head, the boy repeating himself. He chuckled inwardly, "Sorry, wasn't listening - what was that?"
"Such a strange attitude! I'll defeat you or run a hundred laps around the village!"
Kakashi smirked, he'd like to see that. "Fine."
"Yes!"
As the fight started, the blonde sensei looked on with a smile and it grew as dusk fell. When the morning sun rose, both boys lay exhausted in the dirt.
"You fought well."
"So did you."
A silence and Gai said weakly, "The only one I haven't beaten - my eternal rival."
Kakashi smiled slightly. Perhapes acting like he didn't care earned him more friends, "Fine. Go run your laps."
