A letter to a Friend
My dearest friend,
You asked me for some time now for me to tell you about my past and why I seemed so guilty when hearing reports of the madness. I will now tell you, and I hope you can forgive me. It all started long ago, before the time of witches and madness being so threatening. The world was split into two groups, the black-blooded, known for spreading madness, and the resistance, whom fought off the madness. If someone's blood was black, than they were infected with one of the five forms of madness. The first three are Power, Rage, and Terror. The fourth is Order, which turns people into living puppets. The last form is Wisdom, which makes it impossible to think clearly. My personal opinion is that Order is the worst form. I mean, at least, the other forms one has some control over their actions. You might be wondering why I have this opinion, and you'll soon know. Once you find out my deepest, darkest secret, you'll know all you ever need to know about me.
My tale starts with a manipulative lady that I have the displeasure of calling "mother". Of course, I was never allowed to call her that though, only "Lady Medusa". Yes, you read that right, the Medusa Gorgon is a mother, granted she had to create me in a lab. The only reason she even wanted a child was to have a witch that had the same madness as herself. When it was discovered that I couldn't do a single spell, she started making me into the ultimate source of madness. She started this by injecting her black blood into my arm every few months for two years at the tender age of four. It steadily increased in frequency, until she figured I was completely under her command. When she realized it, she would have me go out and stand next to hallucinate to test the madness' strength. Once the person hallucinated, madness would grow throughout the person after that, and eventually turned their blood black. Since I was infecting others, Medusa's power would grow and have more under her control.
Medusa's increasing power meant one thing, the world will be taken over by madness. When she got bored of me infecting others, she decided I would have even more madness, she did this by having me go out and hunt innocent woodland creatures. I didn't want to, I swear, no matter how hard I fought against her control, she was always stronger. Honestly, I don't know how much more madness my body can handle, but it's starting to affect me. I can't remember what I do when she mind-controls me anymore.. I've decided the only way to save the world from her and her madness is to send myself to the moon. Save the world from Medusa, for me, and send for me when a cure is found for the madness, I believe in you.
Your friend,
Crona Gorgon
