wraith was tainted,and knew there was no redemption; so she did the only good thing she could do for the world: kill servants of evil and then die. but then Luna gave her a second chance.now she is midnightshadow, guardian of the night,and an angel of death. rated M for:shipping,graphic violence,a dark storyline,foul language,and possible suggestive content

Through taint and darkness. Warm, red blood ran in a stream on the ground. Mercy. Mercy was why it flowed. Wraith had shot her between the eyes; a quick, painless death. It was the only mercy she had to give. The girl had been her friend and apprentice, a partner in darkness .wraith had saved her from the taint and corruption that would have befallen her if she had lived much longer. The mercy of a bullet was something that wraith couldn't have though, for there was no hope left for her. All she could do was try to right what wrongs she could before death took her, and that girl's life was the first on a long list. Next was the corruption of the police in district 42 of the great hab-dome. She stood and snuck out of the alleyway. 2 cops were passing by; this was her chance. Crack! Crack! 2 perfect headshots. Why did I do that? Wraith wondered. The deserved no mercy, the deserved pain. They had tortured her sister to death, and she wanted them all to suffer. She ran to the police station and as soon as she came into range, she opened fire. While she took the officers by surprise and killed 3 (and also wounded 1 other), but they had better accuracy and weapons and soon she was lying in a puddle of her own blood in the street. "you're gonna' pay for this kid…" she heard the distant voice of a police officer say. She laughed and said "like hell I will. "Then with all the strength she had she raised the gun to her head and pulled the trigger; then it all went black.

"Rise child of the night" she heard a familiar and soothing voice say

"Luna? Is that you?" wraith asked. "why in equestria are you in hell?"

"This is not hell. You are in equestria. I have given you a second chance." Luna replied

"Why? Why me? I am a creature of taint and shadow, I don't deserve this!" wraith shouted

"No, you are my daughter, you are child of the night, and you shall help me to guard it." Luna said

"Well, since I'm pretty sure that I can change your mind, I'll accept this chance and try to live a better life than my last one."she climbed out of her bed and said "thanks mom." And with that wraith to opened her wings and took off into the night. when she was out of earshot from the castle she said to herself "lucky the universe decide I would be an alicorn…"wait, I need a name…she began to think of names. After 3 minutes of thinking she decided on was a bit grim for a pony, but it suited her just fine. Then, below her she saw a pony getting attacked by a manticore. I'm probably supposed to help….she thought to herself as she swooped down between the two. She unholstered her colt m1911, which somehow she still had even though she was in another dimension, and shot the manticore right between the eyes.

"Thank you!" shouted the green pony as she sprinted away. Midnightshadow kicked the manticore's corpse to be sure it was dead, and then took off once more, headed for ponyville.
