Welcome, one and all! I know, there are a few inconsistencies, but there's a valid reason for that. First thing's first, this is (obviously) non-canon. And yes, the name has been changed to "Charly", because I had to write this without using the letter "e". Other than that, it's just silly Nick/Maya fluff, from Maya's POV. Enjoy!
Tidying Up
I fall off a stack of couch cushions as a cry from across our building ruins my nap. I yawn and walk through a bunch of rooms until I find Nick standing on a chair with a mop in his hand, pointing to a giant stain on a fancy old rug. "MAYA! What... What is that!"
Oh, I almost forgot to say—I'm Maya. I stay in this building with my big sis, Mia, and Nick, Mia's pupil. Nick and Mia work as procurators, although Nick is still in training. Mia actually owns this building, so Nick and I stay with Sis (it's costly to buy a flat in San Francisco!). To show our thanks, Nick and I want to tidy up prior to Mia's arrival (I told Sis to chill and go shopping—it's not as though Nick and I could ruin our building that fast). But, back to Nick and his stains.
I shrug and grin at him. "I don't know, Nick! What if it was from your snacking last night? That sandwich was kind of slimy-looking." Nick frowns, saying, "I did add a lot of toppings. But Maya, how did you know I had a sandwich last night? It was practically midnight!" I laugh and pat his arm. "Man, you should think first. If food is around, so am I."
Nick sighs and sits in his chair. I plop down in front of him, and Nick drops his mop. "Not including this stain, it looks as though us two did a good job tidying up." I nod and flop back against a wall, pointing to our dastardly antagonist. "You could always put Charly on top of it," I say (Mia got him as a gift, but didn't ask what kind of plant it is. I say its plastic.).Without waiting, I jump up and start dragging him towards Nick. As my luck would go, Mia walks in just as I trip and spill dirt on our spic and span floorboards. I gulp and, grinning at Sis, chirp, "Nick and I just did a bit of tidying up!"
